So that's what a cutaway looks like. I haven't had one yet, but if I keep jumping one will happen sooner or later. It looks like you did everything right, and I would most likely use the same word you did.
did I say hook knife, damn, I meant machetti. I'm surprised you spent any time at all after looking at it. I had one streamer I played with only to have it partually open into a spin, but it was a fun spin.
I have seen people recover from a line over malfunction before by "pumping the brakes". I would not fight it for very long under a spinning camopy close to a final decision altitude. Yes, I did find all of my equipment. It all landed within 500 yds of me.
you landed safely... which meant you made the right decision. Nice work

Good idea to get rid of the green and black one, the red one goes far better with your gloves.

Looks like a line over on the 5th cell. Glad nothing happened. I wouldn't have gone for the brakes with that mess.

go buy yourself a hook knife
Qballfph 4 years ago
A hook knife (which I have) would have done nothing but cause me to lose altitude trying to figure out which line/s to cut.

Is it possible to recover from a line over instead of using the reserve? :/ Also did you find your main chute?

Were you scared the nect time you jumped?
monkeybuttX 5 years ago
No. In this sport, you need to expect that this will happen at one time or another. I am confident in my abilities.
skydiverinut 5 years ago
i expect it on every jump :)
but i dont have any chops yet
ypesquera 4 years ago
That was a fast reserve opening. Were you using an RSL?
