This is such an amazing song, one of my favorite Scale the Summit songs. 2:00 to 3:02 is probably one of the most amazing things I've ever heard in my life.
I'm just putting it out there. You guys are among the most talented musicians I will ever know. You really give an inspiration that kids like me (I'm only 16) still have a shot at making it big with actual music rather than trashy crap that gets written these days. For that, I'd like to thank you.
@Zappacho i can see the Guthrie resemblance since he also uses a lot of slides with bends, but for it to be Holdsworth, we would have to play more chromatic notes to make it work haha
this is amazing!!!! the reason why progressive genres are my favorite is because of the structures of the songs...its progressive, heavy, technical...and you have to be GREAT to play this genre...and it takes time to make this amazing music...i REELY cant wait for ur guy's new album!!!
Hey I bought your song "The Great Plains" on Rock Band, and it's a pleasure to play. :D Your guitar play reminds me a bit of John Petrucci's, which I ofc. mean as a compliment! :)
and the all powerful invisible creator of all of the countless galaxies in the universe in my magical little kingdom of heaven the first thing i would decide to do would to make any self-conscious beings designed to not suffer or feel hate or discord of any kind.. i would not create lucifer to be cast out of my magical little palace to tempt the poor little adamu and eve with a forbidden fruit. i would not cause birth defects, war, poverty, and should i go on??
@FractionsOfInfinity dude. relax. get your panties out of the wad they are clearly in and take a breather. what you are saying has absolutely no affect. i have heard it all before. i was an atheist for many many years. it's ok that you want to get your point across, i get it. stop ranting and raving. for the sake of the viewers of this video.
science doesn't require faith or belief. only a passionate curiosity towards shedding light on the unknown. i used to be in the same position as you.. i did everything from chanting mantras and decrees from the various new age books ive read to cracking open my skull to blitz through hyperspace while on psychedelics searching for the answers. it took me a very long time to break the habit of believing in a benevolent creator until i decided to start reading credible sources. if i were allknowing
yes this is coming from a guy who thinks a man walked on water and that a talking snake caused adam and eve to be casted out of the garden of eden at the dawn of creation.. you believe in myths that are just insane and your going to say lsd is bad? i mean i know some people can go crazy on it but if you are in a sane state of mind to begin with and know how to control your thoughts and emotions it leads to a plethora of creativity.
filled with all these crazy stories that it discredits the existence of the mind outside of the body but anyone whos alive can tell theres more going on with choice and fate than electrical impulses can explain.. unless of course we just die and no longer exist.. which is very scary and is the reason most cling to religion but i dont fear death as much as the rest of you because ive been dissociated enough from the conscious experience to see the interconnectedness of all living things.
and colors i was hallucinating were these ascended beings. i do feel like there is a spiritual essence to existence which is overlooked by modern scientists and that mortality is merely a transition into another form of being but my understanding and insights given to me by the etheric plane i entered while under these substances makes me understand we are all one soul in essence because its all electricity firing neurons.. the only difference between you and me is perspective. religion is so
Yes I do lsd and it was goddamn enlightening. I used to read these books supposedly channeled by the ascended masters like jesus and budda. all the books were full of discourses and decrees that are supposedly used to help the individual ascend to a higher plane of existence through meditation. It took me a long time to break out of that trip cause you really want that magic to be there. I was on psychedelics all the time when i was reading them so i felt that all the crazy fractalline shapes
@BottledMusic i would say a little of both, but I have always been a "its mostly in the players fingers" than anything. appreciate the compliment! -chris

@mmmhm234 dinosaur fossils.. sorry buddy adam and eve didnt exist. no one can walk on water. universal subconscious connecting us all and thus making death of the individual impermanent because we are all one with the source of creation maybe.. eternal recurrence maybe.. magical kingdom of heaven.. doubt it
@FractionsOfInfinity dude. if you are gonna spout ignorance and intolerance at least have the decency to inbox it to me. you ignorant bigot, my beliefs are my own and are rectified. your universal subconscious stuff is what hippies believed. don't claim such wild fantasies as "eternal recurrence" but discount God's work. one day you will face judgment, like it or not. when it's to late to say sorry maybe you will remember this.
@mmmhm234 hah what part of dinosaur fossils did you not understand?? im glad you say thats what hippies believe like being a hippie is a bad thing. why do hippies always get so much shit? if you did enough acid you would understand how we are all connected because it makes you remember having dreamt scenes from your life. Those psychic experiences have proven to me there is much more than we can perceive. if dark energy is unstable the universe will become a singularity and recreate the universe
@mmmhm234 not regardin that i have a 3.2 gpa at uncw which is a pretty decent university, that i can actually play in instrument half decently, and dont believe in fairytales anymore i wouldnt consider anything ive said to not be intellectual or information based... in fact this information comes from a dendritic theta upload from some of my huge influences who through the process of neocortical lateral transference have helped me see through the ridiculous bullshit in religion.
@mmmhm234 well if you want an information based shocker into what modern science views mortality as: when you die there is nothing. there are no more neurons firing ions through electrical synapses fusing themselves to receiving cells. you become food for maggots life goes on. thats basically what my psychology teacher slapped into all of us the first few days of class. though im sure none of your sunday school classes mentioned the anatomy of the human brain.
@FractionsOfInfinity you told me you do drugs. heavy drugs at that, and you still expect me to take what you are saying as fact? look dude i'm not taking a stab at your character i'm sure you are a cool person. but you are on drugs. i'm not going to take you seriously.
@mmmhm234 I don't expect you to accept what I am saying as a fact which is a beautiful thing considering the subjectivity of each of our experiences.. We all have to come to terms with our thoughts and emotions in some way or another.. and i am interested in the phenomena of consciousness and the possibility of transcendence to high planes of existence(other frequency ranges of perception if you will) much more than you will ever begin to imagine.
@mmmhm234 the atoms that make up the human body, are traceable to the crucibles that cooked light elements into heavy elements in their core under extreme temperatures and pressures. These stars- the high mass ones among them- went unstable in their later years- they collapsed and then exploded- scattering their enriched guts across the galaxy- guts made of carbon, nitrogen, oxygen, and all the fundamental ingredients of life itself. thus we are all one with the cosmos
