i have used some of those motors and prefer the phoenix hub motor check out my bike its a ez3usx 3 wheel trike running 36 volts.with 20 amp hr batterys i can go 25 miles with no peddling before i need a recharge. anything but buy gas the more i ride my bike the less i like my cars.
I'm going to guess: when the motor gets laced to a wheel, then the spokes and rim will make it seem a bit louder, as they will act as resonators.
Note too: all bike wheels tend to be a bit out of perfect running balance. This causes some shake as the wheel runs up to and past its first period of "critical vibration", at which point some small amount of power is lost to shaking things, instead of running our bikes instead.
