Paddy Ashdown backs Nick Clegg

I'm a life long Lib Dem, and Paddy was my MP for many years, and I'm happy that Paddy has given Nick Clegg his support. I think that's helped to tip the balance and my support for Nick who seems to have the potential to drag the Lib Dems back into the political race. Lib Dems generally are and therefore need a vibrant, intelligent, quick witted leader; it's not about age it's about umph.

As generations communicate better through the internet, the face of politics must change to match our expectations. Honesty and a more realistic approach are required; voices that speak the language of 'we the people' and address our concerns - no more spin, no wriggle room, no media manipulation.

For too long we have seen through the false face of our two leading parties (with no power to change it)and change is well overdue - my faith is in the Liberal Democrats and Nick Clegg.
