telemacro effect? i have a gs-500 myself, its done wonders for me. although i wish i had bought the sister model, gs-400 which has more features i like.
Hi. Could you recommend me this camera? I would like to record music videos, or some short movie. Is it good enough for that purposes? ( Good picture, good sound?) From hear looks all right, but you should now the best. Thanks
I'm a bit of a follower of the GS-500, thinking of getting one soon, and also a fan of extreme ways (reminds me of The Bourne Identity), so when I opened this video, this smile came out of nowhere-thanks for that.
Anyway, what I wanted to ask was that do you usually use the LCD for viewing or the viewfinder?(screen size quandary) And would you recommend this camera to an aspiring filmmaker?
I usually use the viewfinder when i frame shots but when i dont really care about the framing i use the lcd(but its works fine)
Yeah the gs500 is really worth the price, i think. It produces some really good colors (my whitebalance was off in this video btw)especially in the day time. Night shots are decent, thanks to the 3ccd's. Most of what i film now are concerts that are in pretty low light, but usually have stage lighting and i get a very amazing picture out of it
its pretty good the zoom speed is a bit fast for me though. but i just got a raynox .5 wide angle and i can zoom through that like 6-8x without any blur
I dont think it is cheaper, when i bought this it was more expensive. But i feel that this has more manual controls than the hv20 and the focus-wheel on the hv20 is doo doo
this is such a sick song, first heard this is in one of the bourne movies. Yeeeee, yo you think this would be a cam for filming snowboarding with all the reflection?
yeah i can get some really good colors if you know what your doing, i have never filmed in the snow (because it never snows in NC!) but i think it would do pretty well, you'd just have to tweek the iris a bit
Thanks. Yea its really a great camera for the price, once you get used to it you can get soem really good daytime shots, lowlight is also pretty good. I only wish it had a headphone port
do you use auto setting or manual most of the time and is it hard to set manual

Ahahaha.

@roaming2 its because the footy is not color corrected. once that is done then the white mist should go away.

the zoom speed is variable (if you use the on-cam control). once you get used to it, you can zoom at any speed.

Have you considered the HV20? Its way cheaper and its HD.

wow, thats weird. My mother has this camera, and I have it's smaller crappier version. (even though I use hers xD) it has a headphone port, weird.
I'm not very good with the settings on it, just trying to learn it a bit now, i want better videos.
Nice song btw. You also make this camera look better then what it is :P
