Christianity in a nutshell:God decides to redeem mankind, to save them from his eternal damnation.To do so, he will send his son to be sacrifice to HIMSELF,in atonement for the sins committed against HIMSELF. He chooses a people to help him do it. He makes sure that they know of his plan by sending prophets, But if they know he is the Messiah, they will not kill him, and his plan will be spoiled. So he makes the prophecies murky. His scheme works. What a divine script.Praise be to god.

The rapid spread of Christianity goes against the claims that it was stories that were made up. Being that during the earlier church, many believers were killed for following Christianity, and despite being threatened to be killed, many came to Christ after those threats is a testimony to the truth. People are not going to willfully give up their lives over a lie.

Through reading Christian articles, I think John the Apostle is the one who wrote the Gospel of John, Letters of John and the Revelation. The Apostles started preaching from Jerusalem and then Paul spread Christianity in Europe, then accepted by Emperor Constantine.

But partially, you're right. Although I used to be a Christian, I just don't understand the faith aspect anymore. Faith is not based on reason and it cannot be proven. Thus, people like myself will never understand it. Sometimes I wish that I could...

where is jesus' gospel? Was he illiterate? Was jesus stupid? He was certainly mentaly unstable, mood swings, delusions of granduer, visions, but he could still have dictated something.

Of course if jesus existed the reason he didn't write a gospel was because he predicted that the world would end within his life time, his alleged crucification was a total surprise to him.

Christianity flourished because it was a cult like scientology, it manipulated and controlled people and still does.

Actually I was claiming he was a cult leader like L Ron Hubbard, there are no prophets false or otherwise.

My premise is still that jesus believed the world would end soon and there would be no church on earth, clearly he was wrong.

I cant supply all the gospel passages because there is a character limit, but you barely used half to totally misinterpret what I said.

It is easiest to show, to a higher degree of certainty that the bible is nonsense. Test the bible by giving a passage from the bible to 10 theologians and having them write down their interpretation. The interpretations will vary greatly and some will even contradict others.

Further, it is irrelevant. I've been noticing more and more that some of these cats who claim to be so logical often have a difficult time following an argument and responding to the topic at hand.

@urbanevangelism Even if true, so what? As was pointed out by the atheist, Mormonism rapidly grew and Mormons always play the persecution card. There is no evidence to support a belief in Christianity. That many others believe, or that the belief system grew rapidly, is not good evidence.

@leonardj1 You really need to get your facts straight. All the apostles were persecuted and put to deat with the exception of John who was excommunicated to patmos. It is funny that it took a couple of hundred years for the persecution to relax a little. and even during the time you speak, those were not christians, because even then the true believers were being killed. read the fox's book of martyrs. So please get your history correct.
