Well, I'm a fan of Metal and Classic Rock. Classic rock, is rather hard to cover and remake. Creedence ClearWater Revival is an amazing band, for a METAL cover it wasn't too bad. The song is a simplistic, and repetitive, that was just the style, so it is naturally going to sound better. If they would have made the song a little more interesting, and maybe added a solo, and a few riffs hear and there, it might have been better. It wasn't to bad. Just different styles of music.

Personally I wouldn't want a cover to sound the same as the original. The band's attributes make it sound newer and edgy and like their own tune which I believe is one of the fundamentals behind making a cover. If a band covered this song and sounded like they were from the 1960s then there'd be no point to listen to the cover.
And this is entirely too generic sounding for any self-respecting hipster to listen to.

Im gonna have to stay neutral on this cover. CCR's version is good, and this version is also good. Considering I grew up listening to classic rock, and slowly shifted into more technical and heavier metal, I feel like this version took WAYYY more talent to bring together than the original. Any dipshit with aweful grammar and a bottle in his hand can sing along to CCR. The Ghost Inside however, takes a little practice and a more broad outlook on music. Just sayin.
