i would say the daughter is clucky and is trying to hatch the eggs being laid and hte mommy chicken is trying to just lay an egg. mine were doing the same until i moved my clucky chick to another nest with fertile eggs. she's still sitting on them now waiting for them to hatch in a few days

Its a flat share as in the hen underneath is going to end up flat. Hens make me laugh as they can be so dumb sometimes, I bet there was and empty nest elsewhere she could of gone in too knowing what chickens are like!!
