Sadly the current so-called public option currently envisioned in the Pelosi bill is very limited -- NOT available to all the public. We should keep demanding more. But as for the rich paying to help, hey, right now we ALL are paying a lot more for those who get sick and end up going to the emergency rooms for health care provided a lot more efficiently in doctors' offices.

1% of 300mil is 3 mil. so, 3/4 is around 2.25 million people who will have to pay additional 5% of $1mil/yr = $50k. so this 2.25% has to survive on only $950k/year? Oh, cry me a fucking river. and, in return we get healthcare for all?

@Fatt, I think 70% is a *little* high, but other than that, I agree. And yes, for heaven's sakes, let's cut some ot this goofy defense spending. Eisenhour was spot on about the military industrial complex, but who listenen? Nobody. We have to stop these goofy wars which seem to have no purpose. And no more hiring defense contractors for stuff that the Marines or the Army can do.

70% is low, trust me. it was over 90% when roosevelt left office and led to the creation of a distinct middle class in this country. he had two wars to pay for and a collapsed economy at home. sound familiar? we've allowed 95% of the wealth of this nation become posessed by LESS than 1% of the population. Is that 1% PRODUCING all that wealth? No. Are they the true innovators of society? No. They're just greedy and we need to take the money back by higher wages for workers & higher tax on wealth.
