In that scene where Gene Wilder reemed Jack Albertson, it occured to me that Wilder lost the Oscar to Albertson for Best Supporting Actor. Not to be trivial about it but when losers end up acting with winners, the winners get the just deserts. Like Brad Pitt/James Cromwell did to Kevin Spacey.
