"THE JOHN FORSYTHE SHOW" appeared on NBC's Monday night schedule at 8pm(et) in the 1965-'66 season (following "HULLABALOO"), primarily sponsored by Colgate-Palmolive. In the fall of '66, Colgate sponsored "I DREAM OF JEANNIE" in the same time period.
Couldn't answer that... Great cast but tI think they premise of the show was weak. Guy Marks was an hysterical genius but in this role, he was rather boring......
@RepublibotThreePoint My reference book says nothing about a change from the original format--Forsythe heading up a girls' school. Is that why these credits don't have any of the students listed, which included a pre-MOD SQUAD Peggy Lipton, the ubiquitous child actress of the era, Pamelyn Ferdyn, and who might possibly be John's real-life daughter Brook Forsythe.
Ignore greats like Forsythe, Lanchester etc, this show was clearly doomed from the beginning considering that it had such a lame opening theme tune. I'm not joking here. Quite often when a tv show tanks it also has a really poor theme.
Sorry I haven't gotten to it this week. I should be moving shortly and so much is packed away.. But I did promise I would do it, so give me an hour or so.
I wouldn't hold my breath expecting this rarity to be released..
Please post any episodes that you have, have wanted to see this show forever. I wonder if Universal has any plans for it as i found some production stills from it on getty restored. I know its a long shot but here's hoping.
@joebradio The name of the end credits theme is "Little Bells and Big Bells" (Glocke und Glöckchen). Composer. Helmut Zacharias. It was a hit for Percy Faith and his Orchestra. You can find it on YouTube. Try searching for Xg4KRUZCB0g
To the one who posted this-Thank you, and may you have a happy holiday.
I remember this back in the day, and don't try to figure out my age, LOLOLOLOLOL.

I remember a different opening with John Forsythe having just landed a plane and still being in the air force. Any chance you have that?

So did they change the opening credits when the show turned into a spy series and they dropped half the cast?

I vaguely remember an episode where Elsa Lanchester tried to sing "One Two Three."

Great show till someone got the brilliant idea to turn it into a spy show.
That's how they ruined "Burke's Law".

that closing music sounds familiar .. I think it was used on a morning or midday show in Charlotte NC (WSOC or WBTV) ... back in they 70s...
