  • Very lovely sound!

  • tractor diesel sound

  • you can easy convert the volt output, but has anyone a idea of what the kW/h is?

  • Nice use of dry wall screws in that big sprocket. :-)

  • With steam maybe there will be a problem with the cooling of the engine.

  • @Origoangelohrol322 ironicaly the engine is cooled by the evaporating steam =3-

  • @valveman12 --greenpowerscience has never claimed overunity. you can't lump everyone's video posts on youtube together. The videos and comments made by the poster in this case greenpowerscience are theirs and theirs alone. If they don't claim it---don't blame it!

  • good job and i hope the best for u

  • Voltage is not a power rating, this could be generating 0.4 watts for all we know. How many WATTS is it producing? Voltage (potential) tells you nothing.

  • Generateur 24 v site weeb discoide1451

  • Cool demo, i'm sure you'd be squeezing out more if you tighten up that chain properly.

  • steam engines have been around a couple hundred years, what interests me more is the solar powered boiler. what is your idea. have you mocked up and test to see what your output would be. what size do you expect it will need to be to produce any useful power?

  • Other than a solar-power boiler Couldn't you also heat this from a wood burning heater/waste-oil heater/or use the exhaust from a them to power fan blades like little windmills and use them to make energy/store it in batteries?

  • "stealing fingers" is a nice way of bringing up safety. :)

  • Very nice, but I would put those chain and gears inside a protective box or something.

  • fiko shows

  • An air motor, not a "steam engine" dope!

  • 110 V DC can be deadly without an FI. (50V AC too)

  • are you saying you used an electric motor for a generator ?

  • WTF chain?!?!

  • I see alot of people post about how he is losing enery by using compressed air (that required energy to compress). Please understand this is just a tech demo. In a real application this engine would be powered by steam from a solar heated boiler.

  • verry knwledgable

  • finaly something bigger than a toy and YES the man owns a tripod a small step for mankind a giant leap for you tube!!!

  • @wizardman42 if u like biger than models check this out =3-

  • hey can you tell me how to make a small diesel generator

  • Good Work. Don't ever get discouraged by the critics. It means you are doing something! Some people do, and others critique due to their own inadequacies.

  • Where did you get the steam engine you're using? :] Thanks!

  • Who dislikes this? Really! What is wrong here?

  • some friends & I built a house once & used a setup like this to generate recharge for a bank of car batteroes we used to power our lights and stereo etc with. oh, forgot to mention, the materials but for the nails we got out of the local juck yard and dump...

  • have you considered doing a parabolic cooker to small boiler to generator? seems like it would produce well if you can track the sun well enough..

  • Very nice*

  • NICE!!

  • :-)

  • I believe that it requires 8HP to compress 1 HP of useful air.

    What is your point?

  • Steam can be very powerful and when boiling water with the sun, you can get these kinds of Psi with the proper mirror and release pressure.

  • Nice Video. I also build steam engines, and I am currently building a Marine engine very similar to this one. The practical problem That I don't see solved here (Or anywhere else) is how to build a practical (Green?) boiler. It is not practical to run a steam engine on comoressed air. I have been pretty impressed with some of your clever ideas. Do you think you could harness your brainpower to build a sipmle practical boiler?

I for one would be interested in seeing it.

  • what pressure and airflow are you running?

  • I think you need an idler pulley on your chain if you ever plan to set this up for any long term use. That chain looks like it wants to fly off at you!

  • Stop calling your pneumatic engines 'steam' engines!! I am sick of searching for steam engines and getting your channel...

  • @Dtoo They run on steam just as well, if you want to see real steam go watch water boil.

  • @aForkandaSpoon

'They run on steam just as well'. That is not the point... do you have trouble reading?

Upload a video of water boiling and I still wouldn't watch it..

  • @Dtoo It is a steam engine as well as a pneummatic engine. I understand that you want to see one running on steam, but people get these and just wan't to fire them up (easy with compressed air). It is also better for performing tests. About 90% of the videos you look up will be running on compressed air because most people aren't going to sit around and boil water to run a steam engine for a quick voltage test. GPS also has "real" steam engines, so do your research next time.

  • reminds me of a diesel engine

  • Put steam to it.

  • what kind of sprockets r those

  • Did you make the steam engine or buy it?

  • hgow did you make the device it looks pretty powerfull. did you use slide valves?

  • Free Energy is real and its here! The Oil companies are doing everything in their power to stop these information. If you want a Free energy machine do a search in youtube for the LT MAGNET MOTOR , Join the revolution!

  • @transfusablepng The oil companies don't give a sh*t

long as nobody comes up with something like the "Fish

Carburetor" that could double fuel mileage and will bolt

right on any existing car. This other stuff is totally impractical

for average people with little mechanical knowledge and

is also undependable for reliable daily use. Long as that

is the case, where people HAVE to depend on gasoline

and diesel, Big Oil don't care. It CAN work, but its not

simple and "ready for the masses".

  • Lets adapt the term: “more money out than in” for a new definition of overunity. Well, I guess we can use the term cost effective for that concept. Now lets hear comments as to why that is a bad idea or wont work. Might save me some time doing more research and learning, and experimenting. thanks , mike, for your make learning fun vids

  • ok folks more energy in than out. hmmmm some people seem like a broken record with that. if the energy put in is somewhat free, or even cheaper than what the energy out is worth, considered overunity? if the energy “in” is, say,, clean burning hydrogen from lye and aluminum, will that be considered clean energy, or green energy, or green science? Lets adapt: “more money out than in” for a new definition of overunity. Well, I guess we can use already known term: "cost effective" continued

  • in dont understand wats happning

  • Nice set up, did you make the engine yourself and if so are there any plans?

  • I guess the plan is to use a parabolic mirror and the sun to heat a container of water, create steam, to then use that steam to power this engine?

  • Can you reduce the drag by getting rid of the chain and gears all together, and mount the motor in line with the spindle with a coupler? Or even make the motor a part of the steam engine? Just curious.

  • Next time it wil run on real steam? :) Very nice though

  • You should try to build a reverser on it, so you can run on expanding steam. The engine will be much more efficient that way. great vid, 5 strs.

  • if electric motor arent on load, they not consume lot power to run? so all of the test was make without load no?

  • Considering Stirling and steam, which one are you suggesting for better results? I've been watching a long time, and about to embark on my own system but i can't tell what you are suggesting.

  • douche

  • @wcoy79 Interesting, you have both indicated your IQ, and poor social skills with one sentence. Keep going, I get you could do more with less. Perhaps a one syllable word would do? I also need to know, are you impressed with your family on the Geico commercials? Geico really could be that simple :-)

  • It's a nice demo. However, more energy in that you will get out is always the hurdle. Therefore, the energy to create the air pressure to run the engine will always be greater than the power you'll get out.

  • @valveman12 I have one word: steam

  • @valveman12 this is really a proof of concept design, he could hook up a boiler but it would be more difficult to set up.

  • @valveman12--- everybody knows that already!---- thats why the title is named STEAM ENGINE he just used air for convienience.

  • @windsunvolts Really? Everyone knows that? You would not thinks so watching some of these videos claiming they have reached overunity.

  • @valveman12 according to the law of conservation of energy this is true for any kind of energy transfer

  • good job man

  • Kewl engine ! Perhaps hook it up to your 8 foot parabolic solar trough (from your DYI vids) to make steam and see what power you get.. Please....

    PuciferSam ☠

  • Darn, thats powerfull stuff.

    Great work

    Erik

  • @GREENPOWERSCIENCE do you have plansfor the toy u showing?

what type of steam valve would you recommend for a small 4 stroke converted engine (1 cylinder) , for now im using a high temp/pressure solenoid

  • You do some pretty amazing stuff Dan, I live in Clearwater, maybe sometime we can brainstorm on some ideas....

    Thanks.

    Tony

  • Great work as usual mate. Its good to see someone testing renewable/sustainable energy sources to produce power, mechanical work, etc. =) Keep it up mate!

  • I don't understand the point of doing this. Are you going to actually use this everyday?

  • yeeeeah!

  • Respond to this video...

  • free energy exists, the coverup is big, but,

If you want the real deal,a real working magnet motor. The LT magnet motor is the best working magnet motor out there.

Just search for LT magnet motor and you can download the blueprints.

    join the revolution of

    free energy

  • @LoADLJTV looool, well then why don't you hop over to the james randi channel. i'm sure he'll be happy to give you his million dollar prize if you can demonstrate free energy!

  • great video i can't wait to see more

  • Wonderful operation! How much torque does the engine provide and whats the approximate steam consumption? Its not often I get to talk tech with people.

  • do you have a motor that will power it up yet?

  • How much power does air compressor use??????...... Can you hook up to your sterling Engine?????... until able to run independent with out gas, electric etc... Solar is ok :)

  • Y E S !!! NICE...

  • i don't understand why are you doing this!? haven't steam engines/generators have been invented 100+ years ago?

  • you know if someone could build a 12 to 18 horse steam engen for under 1000 I believe there would be a market for it

  • @dsarti1 , i am making a steam engine from a 4 time engine, you can get a 1000 cc petrol engine and convert it to steam for less than 1000 bucks

  • Beautiful test! Awesome camera! What camera are you using?

  • @trance183 The camera is a Casio Exilim EX-F1, Id does HD, SD and Super high speed slow motion. Canon Makes some WONDERFUL still cameras that double as AMAZING HD CAMCORDERS. Search Canon EOS 7D one youtube, you will see some amazing night shots. I think SLR styled cameras will take over the camcorder market on the upper end. I also have an Canon XH1A, good for low light, but the EOS has it beat, half the price too. The Casio is not a good low light camera but great for SLOW MOTION.

  • fantastic idea as ever, please keep me updated with boiler progress

  • would it work better if your chain would be more tight ?

I realy like your videos !

  • @HonKyTanKMaN It would up to a point, the crude set up does not handle the initial torque very well. The outdoor steam setup will be better, I hope:-)

  • @GREENPOWERSCIENCE Dan, does this type of engine can produce more energy than it needs to run !? I would like to create one day a system that could give me enough energy to poduce a realy big amount of hho

  • @GREENPOWERSCIENCE cool experiment

Chain has friction loss, as does any drive system, tighter will not make it better, just wear out faster. Direct drive is always lowest in loss, straight cut gears though noisy offer the second best option to minimize friction loss and tend to be a mess, as both chain and gears need to be kept lubricated. I'll admit though, to change ratios belts or chains are relatively inexpensive, and easy to find.

    Good stuff Dan!!

    Keep em coming

  • @GREENPOWERSCIENCE where's it up to now? any updates...?

  • @HonKyTanKMaN Only causes a problem if hes switching direction in rotation or possible at the start otherwise shouldnt be a problem.

  • thats badass :) i do love a good steam engine, its amazing how much torque you get from em... gr8 smell too:)

    thanks for sharing

  • Is that steam or air?

  • @btigtime2 Air for now.

  • go greenpower...cant wait so see it tested with steam.

  • very cool! Very interesting. But please be sure to HEED YOUR OWN WARNING: exposed gears can chop off bits even of people who think of themselves as VERY CAREFUL. They're especially good at grabbing a tiny piece of clothing and then pulling in the connected flesh. Why not take a few minutes to cob up a quick cover??

  • hook a steam source up to that bad boy and be set ^^

  • It doesn't look like huge, but it is =)

  • did it ever work with actual steam or steam from solar collectors ? just curious

  • @YoLninYo Just got it fixed and working. I am working on a boiler for it. Hopefully will test in the next day or so.

  • thats pretty cool dan
