While the Thief was grabbing the golden balls off the minaret, how come you didn't show the whole thing, it was in the workprint, the Ruining the Thief, in the final Calvert cut, and in the credits in the Recobbled Cut?
Vincent Price is an EXCELLENT voice actor. The Princess is meh, she's kind of annoying, and her voice is super irritating. I love Tack though, he's very sweet and endearing.
There's a distinct difference between liberated and irritating. And the only disney princess to find that perfect balance was Jasmine. She was a great character. Princess Yum-Yum is just annoying.
WOW. The faux-hand cutting scene would NEVER be allowed in any modern day animated film. This truly was Williams' masterpiece, both in animation and in story.
So apparently if you look closely at the Thief's flies they have little heads on them that look like him...does that mean they're his children or something? Dude has a family to support!
@Windragonwolf I this Disney took hell of a lot of inspiration from this film for alladin. The evil viser trying to marry the spunky princess while a supposedly lowborn guy saves the day.
Is it me or does anyone find this scene a little dirty, I mean that there are a lot of ball jokes in this, but this scene in 2:58-3:01 just takes the cheese cake which made me fall out of my chair laughing!
D8 Oh no...what did Disney do to destroy this artistic masterpiece? Where can I buy an original copy? Is there an original version that is fully animator in the manner of: 5:40???
@TripleJCosplay Disney didn't destroy it, Miramax was the one who screwed with it. It was gonna originally be for Warner Bros. but they cut the funding for it because it was so supposed to compete with Aladdin but Aladdin made the big screen first.
I'm willing to bet that the scene at 6:56 is the first scene ever animated for this film; you can tell because the quality and style is slightly different and older-looking.
I really wish they had kept Yum Yum going to the dungeon and kicking Fido's ass... She cares for the Cobbler and that was just needed for her to have something to do.
It's truly sad what happened to this film, but I have an even sadder feeling that it might have had a narrow audience anyway, given that, because of its unique and eye-popping art, it's the trippiest thing since Yellow Submarine.
