The real reason Reimu, Marisa and Sanae are fighting Aya is, well, because she's AYA. Aya tends to make news events happen when there's nothing going on. IE, cause trouble. ALSO, she, and other Tengu reporters, but ESPECIALLY her, like to make each story as sensational as possible, regardless of the facts. Who needs facts when you have drama, right? Most people don't like how Tengu spread lies and rumors for the sake of their papers, and the heroines are no exception.

The tengu have honor and would not slander or libel for the sake of their paper. Aya's recollections and reports lack subsistence so she writes from her perspective, adds her comments, and adds ideas when she lacks evidence. Unfortunately, you're not supposed to comment during a news report, lest you be taken as a statement. Not like she cares.
