@borg386 for one this is a island and yes most of the buildings are abandoned and run down because maybe where your from your country did not get hit by hurricanes francis and jean back to back and may be you are so rich that you can afford to fix up your shit if your country did here in freeport many people are still trying to recover from those two hurricanes u ass they r still out of a job and every day things are getting worse but v do the best we could inorder to survive.
its people like you someone who dont get around who make it hard for other people take another 5 years save some more money a take another trip somewhere else and see how other people are living
Yeah, we will be cruising by way of Carnival and one of our port stops is here...I hear that its not much to do but I will make the best of it....these look like the same marketplaces I've seen in Mexico and in parts of the Caribbean...nothing new
I was just there. They do try to sell you things and sweet talk you too. I spent my time shopping for my family. Thank you for posting and sharing.The hurriacanes changed our course to Freeport.The stuff was the same Lol! Lisa
Thats either Port Lucaya or International Bazarr. At the IB, they all try to sell you things, its funny becuase most of the stands have the exact same items, just idfferent prices.
Funny! We are about to book a cruise for Freeport and Nassau. Been to Nassau before (hey pretty lady...can I braid your hair) but do you have any tips for Freeport?
just got back from there. Trust me! this place sucks!!! Too hot! nothing to do, nothing to buy, nothing even worthy of taking photos of.
Everything is run down . Even the tall buildings there were all abandoned and falling apart.
I felt like we were in Haiti or Africa. When We came back to customs, they ask if we had anything to declare, we just laughed.
Seriously do not go here, you will regret it!!!

@borg386
Sorry to offend you!! but i'm only commenting on Freeport specifically as a tourist destination.
As far as a place for tourist to go to and visit to enjoy themselves, freeport is NOT a choice that I would recomend to anyone.
I'm not critisizing the people, or their homes. They were all nice and polite!!
I'm only critisizing it as a place for people to spend their hard earned money on for a vacation.
