This is a German Krautrock band, I remember to them, I had a LP called "Faust 2". It was a good band. I am from Austria. For all who dont speak German, this is not very interesting what they said. I think it was a TV show, something like that. The Germans had very good bands. I still love their Krautrock from the 70ies, it was my youth.
interesting, but don't you feel naked without muttonchops? my best pal's mother of a brother who had kids to the 6th generation of each of the van buren boys says there is nothing like mutton in the mornin'
@buskerbuoy Old comment, but my understanding is that Faust and their producer got a fairly substantial recording advance and set themselves up in Wumme to rehearse and record what the record company thought would be the German answer to Sgt. Pepper's or something equally commercial. I can imagine they nearly shit themselves once they heard "Why Don't You Eat Carrots?" (track 1 on the first Faust album, and utterly insane).
@Pighood I'd even argue that most german bands from the era (say '69-'75) are simply the best ever: can, faust, amon duul 2, silberbart, guru guru, embryo, early kraftwerk, annexus quam, early popol vuh, spacebox, neu!, cosmic jokers, hairy chapter, cluster, tarot, my solid ground, harmonia, gila, agitation free, ash ra tempel, out of focus.. ah! the list is varied and almost endless. timeless. read lulian cope's 'krautrocksampler'. magic mushrooms and krautrock: like fine wine and fine cheese
Aaaa those brilliant germans...a time which I wish I could have lived in, perhaps mayed something of myself creating the proggresive music which they did.
i feel the same, but if you really think about it it's up to people like us to really make the effort to come up with progressive music without falling into the progressive genre, therefore being truly progressive. i dont think it's any harder than it was back then...
Good to see them in action after all these years. They could have freaked out a bit more though... A DVD of early material wouldn't go a miss. Keep it up! DIKKO.
thanks Johnny.... for validating that.... may have thought I was going mad otherwise... got to get it as I always remember me and mates singing a bit that went Ship ba boodolf shipa bo we da see... remember?

Despite the exaggerated bashing in this case, one has to say that German TV has never been as critical as in the 70s.
