  • Im sure the way this is set up would be good for every day flying, and its good to have extra power and weight when its a bit rough up stairs.

the scale detail on Ricks plane is good.I built mine from Danial Smith free plans that I found on the net.I don't know if they are very accurate scale wise all I know is its light and it flies very nicely.I modified the plans a little because I wanted plug in wings, and it looked a bit feeble the way he had the cab area constructed.

  • @gogogeedus Awsome great info and thanks for commenting..Tim

  • Its to fast for scale.it would fly on a .45.

  • @gogogeedus Not sure if it would fly on a .45 that may be a little small.. Thnaks for commenting..Tim

  • @TinkerManRC I have a fifth scale one I scratch built that is powered by an FA50 with a 12x6 master a/s prop and that is heaps powerfully enough, but it does depend on the wing loading, mine is pretty lightly loaded,I will post some videos asap,

    btw good show!

  • im 14 and i'm scratch building my own 1/6th scale piper cub but finding the right wood has been a challenge the balsa just never comes in the size you need. hopefully mine will fly since i'm going towards that goal.

  • @kondakor1998 That sound fantastic, yes I agree it can be hard to find the right balsa, good luck and have fun. thanks for commenting..Tim

  • Nice to see a landing with a little speed & power. So many pilots try to turn their airplane into some sort of parachute just before touchdown, they slow down to much, flare to high and then wait until it drops out of the sky. I just watched lot's of videos of parachute landings, your was refreshing... :)

  • @HeRacesTheSun Thanks for the kind words and commenting..TMRC

  • beautiful plane, beautiful flying, and i love that engine!

  • @horizonflyer9 Hey thanks for visiting and commenting..Tim

  • Love your landings and flight in general. The twin sounds like you might be using straight exhaust rather than mufflers. If so how do you maintain pressure on your fuel?

  • @125saito Thanks for commenting its Ricks plane not sure what exhaust combo he is using.. ,,,will have to find out,, Tim

  • very nice looking cub! is it difficult to build a sig cub? did you made any mods? that one would be great if fitted with flaps and converted to a supercub.

  • @ripmax333 All great questions but I did not build this plane. But in talking with rick he said its not to bad to build. You would have to do the flap mod during the build. with the big wing you rally dont need flaps..Thanks for commenting..Tim

  • @TinkerManRC Why would you need flaps because its a big wing, big wings have lots of drag and that is also the purpose of flaps to induce extra drag to slow u down which in turn reduces lift.I think u need flaps on faster more highly loaded wings so u don't burn up as much strip when landing.

  • @gogogeedus Thanks for this comment..Cool ..Tim

  • Nice looking Cub. I have this same kit still in the box. I purchased it from Tower Hobbies back in '82.
