I'm guessing you're just starting. I'd say look for any Fender mexican made guitar. DON'T- I repeat- DON'T buy a squier. It won't be any good after a year. Go to guitar center, and ask to try out a made in mexico Fender stratocaster or fender telecaster. You won't be disappointed, they're perfect for beginners and intermediate players. Hell, even some terrific guitarists that have been playing for 20 years have 1 or 2 of them sitting around.

I have had a squier for more than a year. A year and a half actually. I have to admit-after the first few months I set it up (With the help of a friend and some books) and re-adjusted EVERYTHING and it was somewhat revived. It is in general a bad guitar. It feels right to me, but, as you can see by visiting the guitar center website, the pickup in it costs twelve bucks. Twelve dollars does not sound good.
