Thank you all for your comments! I am working on my own movie that I will post the trailer to as soon as I have footage. Merry Christmas! (For the record, this song is about WRITING!)
I finally realized I could just type out the lyrics to the song in Google to find out the name of it! (Which I've done for hundreds of songs except this one). My entire childhood and this was my 2nd favourite song on the Comfort Eagle album and I didn't know what it was called. SO GLAD I KNOW NOW!! :D *Breaking the Replay button*
@InkSlingerDucky OMG your comment about Shadow Stabbing being a writer's anthem was PERFECT! I thought I was the only one in the world that believed this song was about the writing process! Most say its about killing somebody. Songs, of course, are subject to interpretation but I'm just glad some one else agrees with me!
@Hexx333 I totally see writing! Sometimes I wonder if it's about Hurricane Carter specifically, and how he wrote while he was in Prison to prove his innocence, especially since he was a prize-fighter, but even if that's not the message, its definitely about spreading the message you have. Somebody's got to say it all. =) Happy writing!
i heard this song stoned as hell going back to my hotel after EDC, Las Vegas. We were stuck in shitty traffic but somehow this song made everthing better at that time...great song!
There's no doubt that Cake is a 100% original band, but I'm hearing a little influence from The Cars & even Sugar Ray. Wonder if it was intentional...
@lethalArrowstrike - Totally sucks when amazing bands get to popular ! because then there on the radio everyday and people who know nothing about the band are all like oh my god my favorite song! and all there songs just get over played and your like ahh fuck....
@ULTRASTUDMUFFIN420 You know, even though it's true that it's annoying when that happens, I'd rather people still actually know some of the amazing more obscure bands. Imagine if no one knew who Guns N' Roses or their equivalents in other genres were? Sure it's annoying when only the singles get way overplayed, but at least the general populace recognizes their achievements to some extent.
@philswims You know, you're right. It still kills me when I see bands that were so goo - so fun and just genuinely interesting to listen to - blow up and then literally become fame monsters. Like Adele? I listened to her when people thought she was some fat ginger (no offense) who had a semi-soulful voice. I fucking loved her and suddenly she blows up and becomes this giant monger of publicity and shit. And now I'm all like "-_-" when I try to see her in concert and tickets are like 200 bucks.
@philswims This exactly... I experienced this very phenomenon with Always Sunny going into syndication (best show on tv btw) and my buddy's all pissed, "aw now everyone's gonna say they loved this show before, blah blah blah.." It really doesn't matter when someone jumps on-board with something seminally popular, beginning middle or end, as long as the content stays worthy. Look at the Boss, Petty, David Gilmour etc... No one bitches when kids say they love these guys. Nor should they.
@SuperMegabar But it fell off that chart pretty quickly unfortunately. I even heard it was the highest decrease in Billboard Hot 200 chart position since 2006!
Only 40,000 views?? But this song is soo catchy and awesome!! Sometimes you really disappoint me youtube...
