It should be noted that the Collapse of the USSR was the reason for the ruining of later former Soviet States. Under Yeltsin, the USSR's economy collapsed from 2.6 trillion GDP(1990) to 300 billion GDP(1999). Russia was in ruins, until these puppets sold their own people and nation out to global capitalism, which is making Russia thrive today.
It should also be noted that Russia still hasn't recovered the economy the USSR had(2.65 tril) compared to the modern Russian Federation(2.22 tril).

Maybe if would have given democracy to the masses socialism might have worked, but he didn't.

Communism worked better for Russia than capitalism is now. More than half the Russian population in Russia claims that life was better under the USSR. That doesn't mean I want the USSR back. It seems like Russia has only achieved the negative aspects of capitalism. It probably has to do with the transition to capitalism after the collapse of the USSR.
The transition from communist to capitalist was done virtually overnight & it led to a major economic crisis Russia has yet to completely recover from.
I also think the transition from the Tsarist autocracy of the Russian Empire, to the communist Soviet Union was also done too rapidly. Socialism should come after democracy (which comes after capitalism) with communism after socialism. It is not the same!
It's like Russia skipped passed democracy & socialism & jumped straight to communism instead. That's not how it should be. They have repeated that mistake by jumping from communist to capitalist. The closest thing that humans have ever been close to Communism is the small groups of Amish and Mennonite communities less the the religious aspect. No money is required in such communities, everyone support each other, when their house burn down, everyone helps in building it back, everyone helps in producing and growing food and the food is shared. Wow, it is quite sad how jealousy plays a role in our world. The USSR collapsed because people were tired of being paid low wages compared to Americans and Europeans(other reasons too, but this was the biggest). Now in Russia, you have 1 rich person in the city, and people make less than the days of communism. At least under communism you would have safety, now you have near Anarchy. Please someone fix Russia.

Maybe Trotsky should have actual listened to the people in the constituent assembly in November 1917 instead of dissolving it, or maybe he should have actually given all power to the soviets instead of just declaring the masses to be too ignorant to rule so therefore putting in place a dictatorship by the "righteous" party and laying the groundwork for Stalin and what would follow. Maybe if would have given democracy to the masses socialism might have worked, but he didn't.

Communism didn't work, and never worked in Russia, and anyone who thinks that is ignorant of history.
Incidentally 'true capitalism' is what leads the US to its depressions and recessions since when unchecked, industries will get 'too big to fail' and also work to generate profits counter-intuitive to what benefits people. (Such as insurance companies barring people from care, cars designed terribly so you will buy a new one, or banks packaging loans they 'bet' will fail to sell to suckers.)

Communism worked better for Russia than capitalism is now. More than half the Russian population in Russia claims that life was better under the USSR. That doesn't mean I want the USSR back. It seems like Russia has only achieved the negative aspects of capitalism. It probably has to do with the transition to capitalism after the collapse of the USSR.

The transition from communist to capitalist was done virtually overnight & it led to a major economic crisis Russia has yet to completely recover from.
I also think the transition from the Tsarist autocracy of the Russian Empire, to the communist Soviet Union was also done too rapidly. Socialism should come after democracy (which comes after capitalism) with communism after socialism. It is not the same!

Socialism and Communism aren't the same! Socialism is more of an economic system than a political one. Communism is both. Basically, Communism is a sorta like a more extreme form of Socialism.
Although, I guess the two words can be used interchangeably but technically, they really aren't the same. So again, Communism is a form of Socialism, just like Eastern Orthodox is a form of Christianity.

Actually is can be debated whether life was better or not under the USSR. For one thing under the USSR everyone at least had a job, health care, and support from the government, you could even retire before you were 60, you had all that you needed. But then came Capitalism and the first few years under it were completely brutal, now its better but it can still be debated whether now is really better, for one, the disparity between rich and poor is massive today in the former soviet republics.

The closest thing that humans have ever been close to Communism is the small groups of Amish and Mennonite communities less the the religious aspect. No money is required in such communities, everyone support each other, when their house burn down, everyone helps in building it back, everyone helps in producing and growing food and the food is shared. Wouldn't a world like this be great ?
