ROCKY 4 its so better intro and so better movie from all rocky movies!!! with great story - soundtracks - effect and the fights... and the best fight for rocky vs drago!! ;-)
Thanks for the video. All intros are awesome...but the Rocky Balboa intro, with the the flashes, the music, and ppl claiming for Rocky, is just unbeatable.
Rocky's III-V don't count as Rocky movies. They're just garbage. Rocky VI tries to pass itself off as a Rocky movie but it just comes off as stale. If you want the jist of what the Rocky movies were supposed to be about, look at I and II. They're all about the under-dog, the person who defies all odds. They're about a guy coming from nothing and making it. They're about the common folk, not 80's trends all about action-flicks and the US/Soviet feud. III-V makes me sick to my stomach.
Rocky Balboa was amazing. Thought it was going to flop with a too-old Stallone, but I was very wrong. The storyline embraced an old-man-has-been-Balboa, and worked with it. Loved seeing the characters back from the original. Stallone made the match believable, and brought an emotional ride along with it. I was surprised and impressed. This is a great movie.
@SomeJackass29 The movie could've been a lot better if they hadn't cast that useless bum Antonio Tarver as the main opponent. First off, Tarver wasn't even a heavyweight in real life, secondly he was flabby, had zero charisma and no acting ability. What was great about Rocky was that just about every opponent in the Rocky movies was immortalized (Creed, Clubber Lang and Ivan Drago).
Mason Dixon (Tarver) was not memorable in the slightest. He was a complete joke as an actor and a pro boxer.
@HenryTheJoker Henry, I pretty much agree with everything your saying - but - I think Stallone wrote and employed the cast for a reason. Is the actual Tarver a heavyweight? No. Is Stallone a heavyweight? No. As far as I know, Stallone is about 5'7'', 200lb. This is a movie, so you cast actors accordingly. For instance, Tom Cruise regularly beats peoples' ass on screen, and I believe he is only 3 foot 2. In this movie, Mason Dixon did not have much charisma, but he was a believable character.
@SomeJackass29 He was not an over-the-top bad guy of the 80's or early 90's, like Mr. T or Ivan Drago. That doesn't work nowadays. Stallone had to make a believable "bad guy" that a near 60 year-old Balboa could actually have a chance with in the ring. Sly knew when writing the script that an old man could not realistically take on a Clubber Lang or Drago, so he made up a character that was reasonable for an old Rocky to fight. It worked.
@SomeJackass29 Why couldn't it work nowadays? Rocky is a cult figure in cinema. Even if they needed somebody who wasn't as ferocious and fearsome as Drago or Clubber, they still could've found a charismatic performer with real acting talent. Not a useless boxer like Tarver who had no charisma or personality. Nobody is ever going to remember the Rocky foe Mason Dixon. But people will always remember Apollo Creed, Clubber Lang and Ivan Drago:)
@SomeJackass29 I understand your point but believability is not what people are necessarily looking for when watching movies. There is nothing believable about most movies, eg: Star Wars, it's about the enjoyment and overall experience of immersing yourself into fiction and fantasy and having a good time. Rocky saga is great not only for the story but also for the wonderful jobs done by the villains who are basically legendary in cinema. The character of Dixon was fine, Tarver though was awful.
@HenryTheJoker Henry, first off, thank you for not ridiculously bashing my integrity on youtube. I respect mutual conversation. What I meant was that "Rocky Balboa" was a movie that very much existed in the real world. I love Rocky 3 and 4, but looking back, they are a bit much ... sort of like the movie Commando. @rodrigobroadcast i think was that after rocky being off the big screen for 15 years or so that when scroll passed by with the music 4 rocky balboa its was nostalgic or magical
It's 5:00 in the morning right now and about 5 minutes ago I worked out so hard it was INSANE... It got me so... Worked or pumped or whatever... That Puke just came up my mouth......
@KingCesar10121, but was this the one in the movies? I don't know why I have in my mind the black and white one, and not the one in this video with that montage of the whole movie...
@GSeward I agree with you. The way the gloves slammed into each other? Then the eye of the tiger music and Mr. T punching him in slow motion gives me goose bumps everytime i see it! lol
@acatboy23 I saw on post page 3 that said the posters profile indicated he's from the U.K. So it's quite possible the release dates are indeed different.
@ccg1171 years movies took place - Rocky 1 (1975/76) Rocky 2 (1976) Rocky 3 (1982) Rocky 4 (1985), Rocky 5 (1985/86. although the movie was filmed in 1990, the events are right after the Drago match, which was christmas day 1985) Rocky 6 (2006)
America is a free country, but that is not saying to do as you please. Doing as you please does define freedom; it defines rebellion, and rebellion and freedom are two different things. Freedom is living, working, relaxing and enjoying life in safety and liberty. That is totally different than the way some of us think freedom is. America is the land of the free, and in America, it is a place to live, work, relax and enjoy freely in security.
It was 1985 When Rocky 4 began, not 1986 because I say it before my 7th birthday, and my 7th birthday was in 1985 And Rocky Balboa was 2006 because I saw it during Christmas Time of 2006. Thank you!!
Do you remember the CG roll that was shown with him and Ivan Drago? That was after the two boxing gloves of different nations crashed. It had the part where Dolph Lundgren (Ivan Drago) said, "I Must Break You".
Okay, sir, if you are going to swear at me, then please don't bother to email me; also, I do not like your foul replies at all to anyone else. You need to apologize to everyone you insulted. Thank you

Wow I'm kind of at a loss here. They were ALL portrayed that way. Sure Apollo came around to acting like a decent white person - but the rest were devious bastards. Mason Dixon lied to Rocky and tried to kick his ass after saying he'd carry him, Union Cane was an ape, G.W. Duke was evil (basically like a black version of a jew). Jaffe seemed pretty beastly. What movies have you been watching? Oh also - clubber lang's trainers were some hard core silverbacks. Creed was angry in part 2
You said that the black characters were "angry, animalistic or hateful."
Let's start with Apollo Creed. He was a showman who joked and spent all his time promoting his fights. After part 1, he gives Rocky a rematch to prove his heart, then trains Rocky to get his fire back and overcome Clubber, before dying in part 4 over depression at having lost his youth. How is that "angry, animalistic or hateful?"
No not at all. Jews do run sports. That's a fact. But I'll give you Apollo Creed he wasn't that bad. He was basically an Oreo Cookie so I can accept him.
You claimed all the blacks in the Rocky movies were "angry animalistic or hateful." The first example I pulled out, you immediately had to admit was not any of those things.
Now you're trying to Move the Goalposts to save face. It's trolling and logically fallacious.
You're an idiot. If you would get out of your own racist mind, alfrunk, you would see that all Rocky's opponents were cast as the "villain"..as a matter of fact, the most "evil" villain would have to be Drago. That's the point of the movie, dumbass. It's hypocritical to call the movies racist when they aren't, it just makes YOU to be the closeminded racist.
Rocky II has the best intro in my opinion.

You got to be fucking kidding me. You cried over a damn intro?!? You're a complete sissy. Keep that shit to yourself.

I like how they portray the negroes in the rocky films.
Alfrunk 2 years ago
How is that??
ccg1171 2 years ago
They are portrayed mostly as angry, animalistic and hateful, in other words, very realistically.
Alfrunk 2 years ago
Please name one black character in this series other than Clubber Lang who was angry, animalistic OR hateful. I'll help you out...
Apollo Creed, Duke, George Washington Duke, Mason Dixon, Union Cane.
Go ahead, which one of them is angry, animalistic or hateful?
EGarrett01 2 years ago
Wow I'm kind of at a loss here. They were ALL portrayed that way. Sure Apollo came around to acting like a decent white person - but the rest were devious bastards. Mason Dixon lied to Rocky and tried to kick his ass after saying he'd carry him, Union Cane was an ape, G.W. Duke was evil (basically like a black version of a jew). Jaffe seemed pretty beastly. What movies have you been watching? Oh also - clubber lang's trainers were some hard core silverbacks. Creed was angry in part 2
Alfrunk 2 years ago
You said that the black characters were "angry, animalistic or hateful."
Let's start with Apollo Creed. He was a showman who joked and spent all his time promoting his fights. After part 1, he gives Rocky a rematch to prove his heart, then trains Rocky to get his fire back and overcome Clubber, before dying in part 4 over depression at having lost his youth. How is that "angry, animalistic or hateful?"
EGarrett01 2 years ago
Oh, I can see by your reference to "the Jews" that you're just trolling.
EGarrett01 2 years ago
No not at all. Jews do run sports. That's a fact. But I'll give you Apollo Creed he wasn't that bad. He was basically an Oreo Cookie so I can accept him.
Alfrunk 2 years ago
Your claim fell apart on the first example. I'll ignore the rest of your attempted trolling.
EGarrett01 2 years ago
If it fell apart, please explain how. Running from an argument doesn't make you look smart. Who runs the media and owns the sports teams??
Alfrunk 2 years ago
You claimed all the blacks in the Rocky movies were "angry animalistic or hateful." The first example I pulled out, you immediately had to admit was not any of those things.
Now you're trying to Move the Goalposts to save face. It's trolling and logically fallacious.
EGarrett01 2 years ago
Apollo didn't die of depression. He died from a hit to the temple by Drago. But nonetheless he was the most noble adversary Rocky ever faced.
isaiahangelo 2 years ago 2
No Apollo because Dolph Lundgren has the strength of 700 men on roids.

You're an idiot. If you would get out of your own racist mind, alfrunk, you would see that all Rocky's opponents were cast as the "villain"..as a matter of fact, the most "evil" villain would have to be Drago. That's the point of the movie, dumbass. It's hypocritical to call the movies racist when they aren't, it just makes YOU to be the closeminded racist.
metlguitar02 2 years ago
That's not hypocrital. He's just falsely accusing shit.
Which makes him an idiot... but I get what you're saying and I agree.
