You guys realize you're talking to an empty sky, right? There's no heaven in the clouds, or hell below your feet. Back when they thought the Earth was flat, humans came up with some ridiculous explanations for the workings of the Universe.
If there was some semblance of truth in this human sacrificial religion thingy, don't you think it would have mentioned that the Earth is round?
