@dakinehawaiian79 the drop off and 888 are great fork, i dont understand why ppl think there so crap, i had a set of 888vf on a 2006 kona stinky deluxe, and i thought thay where fantastic for the money then i replaced them with a beautiful set of avalanche mtn8, thay had alot more travle and was verry smooth but not that much better than the 888vf, just the avalanche fork was alot stronger.
No. This is clearly the turnbull between whittier and hacienda heights. The mustard plants and that view are pretty much what i've seen on this trail. Also just look at the tags, it says whittier.
Never gone that trail before. The trail I use to always go down was, to put it simply, a lot more dangerous...well, I can't tell exactly what street you ended up at. Orange Grove? It seemed like you trailed the outside of the canyon, since the trail I usually take starts at the top of Skyline, cuts through the middle of the canyon, and ends on the Whittier side of Turnbull Canyon Rd. Wish I had that equipment, though :p Try going through on a $50 BMX with no brakes, it's worth the thrills :p
is the back suspension good on that bike because i dunno if i should get the 08 stinky or the 07 i like the 07 because of the double crowns, but im just curious on the rear suspension
i never ridden a norco. but i can contest that my kona is pretty durable. i saw some guys riding norco's @ northstar in tahoe ca. and they were hitting some pretty big stuff. the bikes seem to take more than good.
kool vid =P. i am considering buying a coiler frame. can anyone tell me how light/heavy it is? i am making the transition from hard tail to full sus, so i need a strong, light frame suitable for xc and dirt jumps, as well as a great all round ride. thankyou, and great vid =P
a buddy of mine has the coilair and does xc rides and light freeride on his. its in the 30's lb range but he has no issues climbing or decending on it. id recommend a kona to every one.
Hey bro. Great vid. A question, I'm looking at an 04' Stinky Dee-Lux here in New Zealand and just wondering if it would be alright for XC and a bit of city commuting? I'm after an alround ride that can do freeride aswell and don't want to buy two bikes. Cheer's.
sick vid, wicked way to film love it, bout the 3rd time i've watched this, and i've just noticed the bike must have been bult in us, cuz the brakes are different, left is front lol xD
i just dream of owning a stinky, wouldn't mind a coiler, just really want a stinky, might be renting one at some forest im going to, just wud be so cool to ride one, trail looks so good, u planning to make any other vids lyk this one ? luv it keep it up
for sure. im trying to figure out a new way to attach my camera to be more sturdy. my camera is kinda bulky. i just posted a video of a place called kenter whoops. i think it would be pretty sick to film the whoops in action.
have u looked into helmet and handlebar camera's? i can strap some handle bar one's to your wrist aswell, cuz it's just lyk a strap, and helmet cams will work , if u got a full-face helmet, which i'm guessing u do have cuz u do downhill proper, look in to it mate . i will watch that vid aswell
ive got a kona stinky, really nice bike, awsome ride, cant fault it at all. i mainly do freeride and it just eats up all the drops and jumps. nice vid btw
the stinky weigh in around 40lbs. as far as xc type of trails its not the greatest but very do-able. i do a 12 mile xc ride on it about once a week. im also not in shape at all so i guess its not bad. i love it all around with no complaints. thanks.
this is turnbull canyon in whittier california. its a great little workout ride type of place with some pretty fun singletrack. as far as the stinky goes i have no complaints. dropped it, flipped it, rolled it and its still in the same shape as when i bought it.
the stinky sure can handle a nice drop or 2 however, i climb my stinky and its not the greatest experiance. a friend of mine has the colair which is more than capable of doing hefty drops and by far climbs alot better.

Maxandtheletter7 3 years ago

It usual only happens when you bottom out.
AlasdairWhite 2 years ago
happens to me everytime i go off any drop higher than 12ft, or a big jump, i normally just raise the seat that seems to solve it.
