  • Matacic has a studio recording of this with Czech Philharmonic, but I think this performance is, by far, better. Quite impressive, but avoiding narcissism. He was a real grest conductor.

  • hard to tell really because of the quality but the beginning is breathtaking - LvM doesn't care how long it takes, and he holds it all together from thew inside out.
