I like to put an egg in my patties, and perhaps a quarter cup of panko breadcrumbs, to help bind the ingredients together. I like my burgers moist, and I've found grilling can sometimes dry my burgers out.

You should go out and buy one of those juicer machines. All you have to do is cut a fruit in half and press it down on top of this thing that spins around, and all the juices will come pouring out the side and into a glass. It separates the seeds as well. Just thought I would let you know because it's much easier than the way your friend was doing it.
