  • Can't someone put up Duane and King doing "The Games People Play" please? It's got such a great groove...

  • That's Derek Trucks

  • Derek and the Dominoes were awesome, just think of the music they could have recorded if Duane hadn't died. Two of the greatest blues guitarist to ever record together.Hands down ,one of the best albums!

  • very nice!

  • how anyone could confuse Derek Trucks with anyone else is beyond me.

Stands out as cool, cool, cool!

  • More Allman Lore for you: "At Fillmore East" the song, "You don't Love me" is a gorgeous testiment to the twin guitar mastery of Duane and Dickey. Duane was big on harmonic phrasing, and Dickey was big on twin harmonies. In the middle of the song, Dickey is playing a little diddy of notes, the band falls out for a few seconds, then Dickey starts playing this two note progression and Duane comes in and the rest of the band and they send the Fillmore Crowd into a frenzy. Check it out man!!!

  • If you think Duane was amazing, Dickey Betts was just as talented but he played a different style that complimented Duane's style. Listen to Whipping Post on the Fillmore album and Dickey just takes control of the song. He is responsible for the greatness of that song period. Most of the pattern structures they incorporated into their songs, Dickey was the one who created most of it, and Duane just was there to accent what Dickey was playing.

  • The Allman Brothers guitar duo of Dickey Betts and Duane Allman were at that time in 1971 a very creative musical team. They both complimented each other by playing twin harmonies at the same time. This contributed to their unique sound and by definition, they created a rock sound by incorporating gorgeous elements of blues, jazz and some country into the mix. Duane was big on harmonic phrasing as he would accent lots of notes that brother Gregg was singing. Statesboro blues at the Fillmore

  • Yo elvispreseli, you are so correct about Duane. Nobody played with the power, grace and originality that Duane brought to the stage. Even Clapton who in his own right was and is a music God, admited that Duane was in a class of his own. When he and Duane recorded "Layla", Clapton let Duane run free. He was only supposed to play on a track or two but Clapton realized how amazing Duane's playing was and played on the entire album. NOBODY could "hit the note"

    like Duane could, number one!!

  • Noone sounds quite like Derek..I knew it was him after the first note..The best living slide player ...

  • @crayhead derek overplays everything, he doesn't know how to just let there be a gap or when not to play. He plays too many notes. No emotion behind it, just all mental.

  • @rudyc1 Couldn't disagree with u more..but that's ok...Plus his own band DTB is about the best live sounding band i've ever heard..

  • @crayhead completely disagree there buddy. for me derek's phrasing is what makes him truly awesome

  • @rudyc1 Try and play like Derek for me please. Oh and then lower the action while your playing slide and try.

  • great still getting the blues out jimi not on that ...luther a.

  • Fantastic! I've never heard this before. King Curtis was the MAN and Duane Allman was the best Blues/Rock guitarist, period. Forget Clapton. Duane was the real deal.

  • Nice tune. I want to hear more!

  • @snapper850 No Shit Pussy!! I made the video ya Dick!! It's Derek Trucks. Hendrix is probably the only guitar player you know.

  • Yeah King Curtis is the ONLY cat to have had the priviledge to have played with both Buddy Holly and Jimi Hendrix!!!!!!!!!!!! Can you imagine!?

  • Greatness.

  • Yeah, that's Hendrix. It's Curtis, Cornell Dupree and Jimi.

  • at 1:02, who is that on the right, is that who i think?

  • fantastic feeling ! Great track ! - We miss Duane..

    Thank you

  • The song is "Soul Seranade"- originally a hit for King Curtis. BTW, do listen to King's recording of "What Are You Doing New Year's Eve?" sometime, especially on December 31st- and yes, Duane accompanies King on the guitar here! It's on the "Soul Christmas" CD.

  • is there any longer version ? please post it ...tnx
