Interesting. I find Gees' playing too slow on the first song. The piano interludes between verses are lugubrious, but then the tempo is ponderous overall. I have always loved Pregardien's lieder singing. Funny how I imagined him to be younger. He resembles Fischer-Dieskau quite a lot.
They are really the ideal duo to me, the pianist is a real presence, but not too much either and that piano has such a lovely sound. Do you happen to have any idea what it is? Thanks again and again!
