Very interesting. Not used to seeing that sort of display. Well done :) I guess the only thing I find limiting in the 606-303 arena there aren't any chord changes but I guess that's the beauty of it. Perhaps the only way to do it would be to import an entire sequence on the comp then add to it and build as you go along but then it wouldn't be completely analog.. Thx for this.. k later :)
You could do with some analog sims. Try downloading Reaper and using an analog simulating VSTs to get a feel for how synths work.
Frankly learning what each parameter does isn't a particularly academic thing (although there's a lot of science behind it), it's more a matter of experimentation and using your ear to assess what each parameter is doing to the frequency & timbre characteristics of your sound. Don't be dismayed by the fact that the learning curve is very sharp!
I have a Palm Tungsten T5, and I used to use these programs. Then I switched over to my Jailbroken iPod Touch, and I wish they would make programs like these.
Cheers! I don't think it can run on an emulator because the code is optimised for ARM cpu's, but you can pick up a used Palm T3 for quite cheap on ebay, the software costs $43 for both, so with the Palm about £100 all in, cheaper than a used synth and it fits in your pocket :)
Daren, I think you should mention that both programs are free now.
