Each character has to be programmed separately?! That's total dedication! I'd love to see more Rock-afire technical videos. :)
Thank you so much for creating the Rock-afire Explosion. I loved the band as a child and am thrilled that you're keeping their magic going strong. Some of my fondest childhood memories were standing up against the stage and looking up at their wonderous performances. It was pure magic.
Wow!!! I've always wanted to see this show live but I never can...They have a Rock afire explosion here in Fun Zone on Long Island in Farmingdale but they dont move only the lights go on and the music plays rly low...I guess maybe they stopped working
Absolutely amazing, I don't ever remember these being present in Australia ( apart from dreamworld in QLD in the 80's, was that one of yours?). Your passion for your creation and the love of the technology, joined with Athena puppy is very cool. I love the whole setup and the methods used to create these shows. Ahh, the mighty IIE. I've seen some of the other clips the in house and archival footage is truly inspiring. Time to buy one of your kits me thinks..Thank you so much.
Seeing The Rock-afire Explosion with no movement reminds me of when I was a kid at Showbiz. We would look behind the curtain, with darkened robots, scared they might yell at me, "Hey, what are you doing looking back here at us!!!"
This guy must be financially set and doing this for fun because Id set all this stuff up on a mobile rig and do gimmick concerts, promotionals, Outdoor part concerts, mall openings what ever....Would take much work, and im sure the components are really delicate, expensive etc but once its going, and the logistics worked out , it may have potential. Nice job
Aaron! You have got to do more behind the scenes stuff like this. It was great! Seeing some of the original equipment you used back in the 80s like that old Mac was interesting. God I wish Showbiz / RAE locations could come back!
The patience and gentleness you display when she rips Dukes pants, is truly inspiring me.. something to aspire to be like in all acts of life, to be that patient, gentle, and loving.
Hey Aaron! I live in Missouri, but I think it would be INCREDIBLE to meet you and just help you out with projects and such. Especially being able to see the RAE in person! What an amazing sight!
WOW... this is so fascinating. Behind-the-scene stuffs always makes me happy. I like to know about the magic that goes on before the grand show gets displayed. This rules! =D Onto part II! ^_^
Hi Aaron, Jason from St. Louis Missouri again, I can't believe how much your smart dog Athena loves the show when it is running. So wild what she does to Dook each time he hits any part of his drum set! But I think she needs to learn how not to get up on the stage. I know when I saw the Rock-afire Explosion many years ago I wanted to be up on the stage myself, but I knew it wasn't the right thing to do. Anyway still can't wait to see this show in person someday soon.
Yes..I am teaching her manners with regard to the show, but I wanted to capture (and enjoy) her instincts before I rein her in and make her behave. Life can be so dull when we behave all the time, so I just gave her those moments before teaching her to settle down and stay off the stage.
When I have Athena, Tandy is home with Kerry and vice versa. Funny thing is that Tandy refuses to be in the same room with the animatronics when it's running. I have just gotten her to come into the room when it's not running. But, when they start moving she runs for the hills.
she is beautiful dog

It's really surprising that these things haven't been updated to use MIDI. That's gotta stink programming a song.

Yes..I let her have her fun, especially for your viewing enjoyment, and now, Athena has to obey and stay off the stage.

(beware, questions incoming)
(snrk) You scared her, poor baby... Why is Athena allowed in the shop, but Tandy isn't?
And what's all that music? Do you just go and watch the old shows in your free time? (Jealous.)
Why is Athena so fascinated with Dook? Other than the fact that he's awesome.
Who's counting up to 30 and why?
Do Beach Bear's legs move separately? The diagnostics tape for the franchise-that-must-not-be-named shows them moving together.
Onto the second video!

What will Athena do to the new Rock-afire show?

Wow, she's really hypnotized by the animals! And I love how she can recognize Dook as a fellow dog, even if it cost him a good pair of shiny pants.
