  • 0:37-0:45 sounds like Thomas is fucking the damn guitar!

  • phase shifter on cocaine

  • I didn't believe in god before watching this. Now I do.

  • HOW THE FUCK DO YOU GET THAT KIND OF SOUND IN THE BEGINNING? D:

  • @Hellion6325 He's got a shit load of effects pedals, and it sounds like he's hitting the strings with a coin or some kind of metal.

  • @aCloudConnected .-. bass with effects?

  • @Hellion6325 at a guess ring mod or weird filter setting

  • 2:16 Flawless.

  • holy fuckin ass crackers was that the breakdown for "A Man. A Plan. A Canal. Panama" and for the last part of ghostships? ORGASM

  • I wish they never broke up. The best math-core band ever.

  • @radjari so true man. even their new stuff was amazing. maybe not so math-core at the end, but still great music.

  • I love the faggots who jump on stage. Haha, best performance of this song I've ever seen.

  • I miss the underground D:

I also miss The Fall of Troy.

  • balls

  • unlikely event is awesome in its own way. great album

  • Honestly, quit trying to justify In the Unlikely Event. Just listen to Just Like Vinyl. It's awful. This is brilliant. The magic is gone. For good. Enough said.

  • @thewordsdied duuuude, wtf are u talkin about?!

Just like vinyl is so fucken great! not as good as troy, nut they re fine

  • @thewordsdied You're an Idiot if you don't accept In The Unlikely Event or Just Like Vinyl then you don't understand The Fall of Troy at all even during this era.

  • @FOnewmike I'm sorry, but that's bullshit man. Just because I love Led Zeppelin, does that mean I have to love Robert Plant's solo "career", or Jimmy Page's attempts since. I love the Ghostship tracks, Doppelganger, Manipulator and most tracks on Unlikely Event, but I by no means fail to realize that some songs lack that ballsy proggy touch that attracted me in the first place. And Just Like Vinyl is a step in the same direction as Unlikely Event, towards generality.

  • @xKinseh LOL wha?

  • @FOnewmike -.-

I disagree with what you said, and presented a counter argument/reason why I disagree.

  • Wen ur as talented as Thomas, the front man of the band and can easily overshadow Tim and Andrew i can understand how u could become a showoff

  • stop bitching about In The Unlikely Event, ALL TROY IS FUCKING FANTASTIC and even if you don't think so stop bitching about it on youtube.

  • i never really got how crazy this song is holy shit i just shat myself a little

  • o and I think the guy that said that Thomas plays like a show off deleted his comment but if you see this I think me and you would play like show offs too if we wrote songs like this at seventeen

  • Timothy's screams are better then Thomas's </3(well thats what I think, I still enjoy Thomas's screams though)

Also at first I was stuck on how in Tears Of Green Eyed Angels it was three people screaming the ending part but this version with two people grows onto you

  • @JustinCaparas But Thomas got better at screaming as he got older. :'D

  • @FluffyMuffina

Nah it definitely got worse. His best screaming was definitely on the Self-Titled, and his worst screaming was definitely on In the Unlikely Event. He tried to improve his clean vocals during that time in between and his screaming ability took a hit as he was less willing to go all out so as to not risk fucking up his singing.

  • @nlo13 I think his screams had more body as he got older, they seemed a bit thin on the self-titled, but not bad!

  • His screaming was less intense but were fuller. On his self titled and even a bit on Doppleganger his screams sounded really thin both live and on the album. On later albums it got fuller and just sounded better even if it wasn't as "intense" or whatever. I like his screams on their later stuff better. i think it sounds a lot better

  • @nlo13 fyi, he doesnt scream that often at all. most of the screaming you hear in the old stuff is their bassist, tim. old bassist i should say. but you probably knew that, just pointing it out.,

  • @MrMut3r Uh, no. Most of the screaming is Thomas. On the S/T Tim did scream a lot but Thomas has always screamed more.

  • @ascheier all of the "real screams" are tim. What thom does is mroe of a banshee shriek/

  • love that robotic stuff in the intro

  • orange amps baby!

  • Basically the band broke up because Tim Ward was and is dating a gal by the name of Mercedes, and wanted to pursue a personal life in which he's married now to her and minds his own business, and then Frank Black joined the fucking band and then you have your broken down prodigies in a different light about being broken up. True story bout' Mercedes...HONEY COMB HONEY COMB BABY!

    Thanks Frank

  • great video!

  • The Fall of Troy broke up probably cuz Thomas is a huge dick. I know no one wants me to say that and I love this band and his talents, but when you have that much control over a band and can be a nasty prima donna at times, it's not going to last. Just my 2 cents.

  • @nlo13 I guess he was sort of a dick, but that was earlier on, he really didn't seem like a dick all throughout ITUE

  • FUUUCK

i like how they can sound bigger than bands these days with 2 guitars

  • Intro is a bit odd and long, but the actual song is pretty good. I think they need to add a bit more strumming in the background, but still keep the picking as the primary. The one I can see looks pretty cute as far as I can tell. I personally like the use of antiphony, but I think think they need to switch lines. I like it when the higher vocal takes the secondary lines.

  • God, bring tfot back

  • Holy shit this is fucking fast atleast the intro was

  • this song is so fucking dank

  • I think pretty much all of TFOT's stuff sounds amazing, even the new stuff. Just my opinion.

  • lmaoo thomas's hair looks gay straight

  • I think a mastodon sounds something like that.

  • ive been a fan since the very first album was in the shops.unlikely mostly sucked sorry any other fans but it did.musically speaking the guitar and drums killed it but frank black although a better basist didnt have the energy or attitude.we can all speculate as to why they broke up but i believe it had something to do with frank.if tim hadda stayed i believed that unlikely would have been a very different album.peace

  • @KAVEH08 Dude, Thomas has always been the one who pretty much controls everything in TFOT. Thanks to Frank we had POTH and ITUE since he filled in for Tim. Are you honestly saying he broke them up or are you just kidding?

  • i still like all their shit

  • That shit at 0:17 is so tasty.

  • Thomas would be the perfect human being if he only had a little more junk in the trunk.

  • i add this to my favourites every day

  • @ddthatcher lol i watch this video daily hahaha and pretty much the half of my tfot favs vids lol

  • hey you guys if you like this check this band out were THE BUSINESS MEN!!!

WERE ON FACEBOOK, MYSPACE, AND REVERBNATION

    CHECK US OUT

  • lovin' the guy right at the end of the video with his ears blocked.

Cant handle his breakdowns, it seems.

  • alright anyone else curious about the effects pedal hes using in the beginning?

    thats some badass 8bit riffs

  • @gopherpoo There's an effect called a bit crusher that gives stuff a more 8 bit sound, but I only know of expensive boutique pedals, it could be some sort of chorus pedal maybe..

  • @TheDivineAberration naw a chorus is if it were two guitars playing at the exact same time. he does loop it and layer it maybe. still wanna know what he did for that fx

  • Comment removed

  • @gopherpoo its the line 6 fm4. they have a ton of stuff like that on there

  • @bconnolly can u plz upload the whole set? i would appreciate that very much :)

  • Dude the breakdown at the end=A man a plan a canal panama. Pretty rad.

  • Thomas is one of those people who are in a bunch of different bands with a few loyal fans and that's the way he's gonna keep it. i love just about every song he plays

  • How about everyone stop arguing and not care about a stranger's personal life? Would you want someone chiming in on every little detail about a long, failed relationship?

  • Such a shame as everyone says. I don't think I've found a band quite like them since. Thomas Erak said when they played up at London about rock and roll and he was right, rock and roll is about doing what hasn't been done before in my eyes. Heck, it's what music's about. And yes, they brought down the fucking house.

  • i know that breakdown from one of their songs but i cant think of which one..

  • @l337man4 sledgehammer

  • @nflores20 thought so, then Ghosthip V, right?

  • @l337man4 nope, i was mistaken. its a man a plan. i don't know about the ghostship part.

  • @nflores20

the first one was 'a man. a plan. a canal. panama' and the second one was from 'ghostship: part v'.

  • @nflores20 a man a plan?

    then ghostship V?

  • @macauleymcCulkin you're right, it is that song. my bad :)

  • As a long time fan of the fall of troy, and a serious musician.. I'd like to be on record as saying their entire discography deserves to be among the best rock albums of all time. Thomas Erak is from another planet.. My biggest inspiration..

  • Damn, speed run.

  • is the very end of "What Sound Does A Mastodon Make?" the riff that later down the road came to be "Sledgehammer"?

  • they're so amazing musically....and lyrically...and vocally. For fuck's sake is there any way in which this band was not awesome?

  • Everyone shut the fuck up! I can't hear this fucking amazing video as it melts my face off.

  • fuck is it me or they playing mad fast??

  • @cky1066 No, they are

  • god damn i wish Thomas would shred in my fucking face!!

  • @blink182skaterforlif something tells me that would be extremely painful

  • Yo LO FUCKING L THE BEGINNING.

  • How do people get so good? I just don't get it

  • what the fuck... amazing. fucking amazing

  • 2:10 tim drops his bass:p

  • @dancegavin110 naw, he just dropped his pick.

  • i like their new album it was different people just cant stand change

  • my fav song

  • Dosent anybody think that maybe The Fall Of Troy broke up because ever since people have heard In The Unlikely Event they have been saying how the band sucks and should go back to playing their old music. WHATS THE POINT IN BEING A BAND IF PEOPLE ONLY WANT TO HEAR YOUR OLD SONGS? Why would anybody stay together if they couldent move forward?

  • Interesting point. I cannot imagine it being THE reason they broke up though.

  • @Snowblind333 because your in a band for you and your bandmates... you want to share your music and be in control of it at the same time. And their new album couldnt have moved farther forward... just because it doesnt sound the same as the previous four albums doesnt mean it doesnt come from the heart. people grow up. they move on with their lives. they get tired of playing the same goddamn songs every goddamn night. so no... i do not think that is why they are breaking up.

  • @MrFoxykitty

i think that's what he was trying to say.

    i may be wrong though.

  • @Snowblind333 I'm definately sure this has SOMETHIng to do with the bands split.

  • @Snowblind333 because they make music for themselves for fun...its not for people...if you only make music to please people then you wont love the music you make am i right?

  • @Snowblind333 Heck the unlikely event was a good album i liked it..

  • @Snowblind333 its not that they want to hear the old songs its that they like the style of the old music more. its what drew everyone toward them in the first place so to make such a change in their style was a pretty big mistake

  • @LemonMerigueTie its never a mistake to write the songs you feel like writing. its a mistake to keep playing a certain style of music to please a crowd if you dont enjoy doing it anymore.

  • @Snowblind333 well it was somewhat of a mistake cuz they ended up losing lots of fans and breaking up

  • @LemonMerigueTie Bug deal, they lost lots of fans. either way they would have broken up so losing fans reallly dosent matter anyways. and honestly if you can appreciate the music a band makes regardless of style you arent a real fan

  • @Snowblind333 completely wrong. the point of being in a band is to express yourself. if doing what your fans want is your way of expressing yourself your not human. They are artists not DJ's. In interviews they said the reson of their break-up is because thomas was tired of writing all the songs and because everyone wanted to go their separate ways already.

The 16 ppl who liked this comment know little to nothing about music.

  • @Snowblind333 well they're old music is pretty damn amazing. just sayin :/

  • @Snowblind333 I completely agree. I, like many others, thought their first two albums were amazing. When Manipulator came out I thought it was cool, but not as good. Slowly but surely it started to grow on me, and now I really enjoy that album. Same thing is happening with Unlikely Event.

I was sad to hear TFOT was breaking up and I think it's unfortunate. I was really looking forward to hearing their sound evolve and change.

    Oh well.

  • @Snowblind333 I'm pretty sure Thomas would slap you in the fucking face.

  • @blink182skaterforlif dude, he's making sense, thomas would probly say "that makes sense and all but isn't the primary reason for the split." i dont even think he really meant that it would be the main reason they broke up. he's making the point that if every1's gonna say their new music sucks, starting over with new bands will be good for them, so they gain a new audience of people who arent haters of their progression

  • @Snowblind333 the way they moved forward on that album wasn't the best, if you ask me, and most others.

also, the relationship within the band was deteriorating, you could see it in later interviews where they were always trying to talk on top of each other. and whats hte point of playing music if youre gonna hate ur friends, right?

  • @Snowblind333 tthey splitted up because andrew was getting sucked by the band, the drungs and the alcohol if not maybe now he would be on a hospital dying and personaly i like ALL their music

  • @Snowblind333 because people want a more advanced "old" sounding fall of troy. not a new direction that completely disregards their past and makes them sound like they don't even know their own roots or what they started out playing. In my personal opinion they moved onto more of a weaker sound than what they started out as (which also is what got them where they are today) which leaves the people who've been listening since the thirty years war feeling a little lost.

  • @Snowblind333 That IS why they broke up. They saw they were getting poppy

  • @TimTehPilot Oh sorry, didnt realise you were frank andrew or thomas and you know why they broke up. They wouldent break up because of that, they choose to become poppy, it dosent just happen you ididot. And i wouldent say they were close to poppy either way. And pop isnt a band thing you fucking retard.

  • @Snowblind333 In The Unlikely Event wasn't a movement forward.

  • @Snowblind333 someone has a brain!! i was begging to think i was the only one haha XD thats one of the main reasons they broke up :((

  • They better close the shows on this last tour with this fucking song... RIP TFOT

  • @nlo13 Agreed completely. I'm seeing them on the 15th. I want them to play this song so bad.

  • :) I want them to play Reassurance Rests in the Sea when I go! Or Ghostship part II but they never play those :(

  • yeah dude ghostship demo's are the shit xD

  • sounds good live but like studio version better but tfot has to go back to the old tfot

  • @shawn2388 They arent going anywhere, there breaking up :(

  • @ t3hDunpeel

well heard lol at first i thought it was the beatdown at the end of sledgehammer, but you're right!

  • fuck yes, old fall of troy. the only good fall of troy.

  • Where can you buy there music??

  • theres this AMAZING thing called iTunes. hahaha

  • Nowhere! Die. Scum!

  • manipulator was brilliant!! in my opinion at least, I can't stand the fact that thomas is trying to appeal to an audience that doesn't give a **** about his music.

GIVE US FANS WHAT WE WANT. MORE ADRENALINE/TECHNICAL/INSANE GUITAR DRIVEN INSANITY!!!!!!

leave those narrow minded fools in the dark!

  • not really, tim never wrote a single note, he was kicked out of the band because he didn't give a shit about being in a band (and music). anyway, i do agree with you about tfot suck nowadays, but this is thomas new direction with music... i dont consider the new direction honest, but, this is what he is into nowadays (and this has nothing to do with screams, i pretty much HATE screams nowadays)

  • The song is just epic. Perfect way to end an album.

  • i love the A man A plan A canal Panama's breakdown at the down, so fucking sick!

  • Comment removed

  • the intro sounds like the twilit demons in TLoZ:twilight princess.

  • if you don't like the fall of troy. you don't like music

  • His screaming is ...Amazingly funny :D

  • :) its alot better now live, this was lonnnng ago

  • let's go pedal man we been here!!

  • Holy shit, why is so fast!

  • hes gottin alot better at screamin live since this was takein the quality is extreamly good and everyone that comments negitiive stuff jus cause you dont like the music you cant take away from there amazing musicical skill

  • You're such badass. Shouldn't you be at home listening to rise against you douche

  • this girl i know says dance gavin dance is better than fall of troy.

DGD's STAGE PRESENCE IS NOTHING COMPARED TO TFOT

  • and dgd is a fucking 5 piece.... so obviously they have it easier then a 3 piece.

TFOT is a 3 man band that sounds like a god damn orchestra...

  • @alxcapowned1 easier in which way?

  • I like the random fans coming up and screaming. I also like Thomas's hair. oh and the song, i like the song too hahaa

  • =P nicely put

  • does anyone still have this up for download or have a torrent of this?! THIS IS SO EPIC! I MUST HAVE IT!

  • These

    YEAH

    These

  • Comment removed

  • @Brunicus24 I agree with you, and I'm a BIG fan of TFOT, but not an idiot that wouldn't accept true facts.

  • fuck you

  • @shawn2388 The fact that there is no singing makes this song a lot worse than it has the potential to be. The musical ability of these guys is great, and it should show in every aspect, including the vocals.

@fradooodle Well, now you're just being childish. Take a page from jmmatos23's book, and learn to respect opinions that differ from yours.

  • I actually think this show was like the best performance TFoT has ever done, why cant Tom go back to his old haircut, i kinda like it more than his present haircut.

  • yeah is so about the hair!!!

  • ahaha omg his singing reminds me of something off of homestarrunner. it's okay though be he's actually cool in studio and other videos

  • @wotjesus haha i agree, but then again hes trying to play guitar in the dark and sing, so its forgiveable. but the sound a mastodon makes would definitely be the vocals in this song

  • is that even a word.

    "musicality"

  • @snakeater Yes mate. It's a word lol

  • kill yourself.

  • i love you.

everyone rejects this. cause they think that musicians have to be perfect gods.

its not true. if it sounds beautiful, then listen to it, dont whine and bitch just cause its using a method thats cheep or dirty.

    music is music,

  • @mateothebest TRUE MUSIC LOVER!!! Thank you for pointing this out. Music is music!!!

  • this is what i want to hear oct 12th LOL

    pamona anybody?!!!!

  • Thats what im talking about and they did play this on that day.

  • <333

  • this song is sick....

  • wow fucking amazing.

    5* and favorite.

    nice ass quality.

and the end was the ending to Sledgehammer and Ghostship V :)

  • he didnt use auto tune at all u douche... his vocals are just alot better now, u clown

  • i can hear it dumb fuck. and how would you know this did tom tell you personally?

  • You must be retarded, Or don't know what autotune is.

  • yeah must be since i have side business of recording music, and use autotune all the time. you can choose how wet you want it to be, and it can barely be heard except to a trained ear. and trust me i now when there is autotune being used.

  • yeah wrong, theres no autotune, if u want to hear what autotune sounds like go listen to any song by attack attack
