Normally the armor you see can shrug off attacks that can devastate cities, concerning the novellas and the tabletop game, and in this armor the space marines can move faster than a normal human can realize it.

Imperial Guard is another legion and they are not the same. ;) SM are geneticaly engineered. They have Chapters like Dark Angels or Blood Ravens, Space wolves... They have cool armor too. Imperial guards are some kinda army guys who trying to be better than SM...
as i know the imperial guard, does not have genetic improvements, and in inquisicion all of they haven't genetic upgrades, furthermore those have that them are used to having a better training than conventional space marines and they are used to having training to improve his psychic capacities
i know but they ONLY MENTIONED THE MARINES! at best they are a special opperations branch or shock-troops. A few thousand marines are not the only thing protecting the Imperium. millions(at least) of guardsmen form the bulk of it
The marines are the only thing that count. Imperial Guard are like potato chips. crunch all you want they will make more. The guard are thrown into hell holes to hold off the enemy long enough for a space marine chapter to arrive.
How many baneblades does your average Imperial Guard regiment have, one, two at the most? You throw enough anti tank missiles at the damn thing and it will go boom. And what happens when you come across a horde of Orks that have a couple looted baneblades of their own?
in the time it takes you to fire that many AT weapons at it you have been obliterated by not only the BB, nut craploads of leman russ tanks, Kasrkin, Ogryns, hellhound, chimera's, basalisks and the hoards of guardsmen that were deployed with it.
and orks would never manage to loot a baneblade, they're programmed to self destuct if its about to be captured. the Machine spirit AI would aim to prevent that at all costs
Ok so maybe the orks couldn't loot it but they could still destroy them. So what if your guard boys kill hordes of the greenskins, good thing the orks have plenty to spare.

Rule 1. Orks die
Rule 2. No self respecting Warboss cares about rule number 1.
Rule 3. If ya run out of boyz just leave and come back when ya got more.

Put an ork in a junk yard and in two hours he will come out with a fully functional war machine. You can't get any cooler then that. Who cares what it lookes like.

nukes arn't really that good for taking planets. You nuke all your enemies bases on the planet and you are left with a useless ball of rock that you cant use for the next 10,000 years because of all the radiation.
i was talking about taking the planet i was talking about when you lose the planet you nuke yourself when you know there is no hope in hell of winning then you kill some of the enemy and give them a useless pice of crap planet that theve been fighting for
yeah but then yo can't reclaim the planet later. you nuke it and it is useless for everyone. better to withdraw if you lose and come back later with more ships and a bigger army and take the planet back.
if you are just knocking out a fortress then they would not even bother with a nuke, an orbital bombardment from the lance batteries on the imperial ships would do just as good.

It's the forty-first millenium. I just watched a group of super soldiers charge a line of axe-wielding orcs. You would think, somewhere in those forty one milleniums, someone would have made it known that running at someone with an axe is generally a poor idea, especially when you and everyone around you is equipped with a ranged weapon.
I clearly said there is epic value in it, which is why it was done. I also said they would have done better NOT charging at the orks who have axes. Read what people say before you argue with someone defending the same position as yourself, although you did a fairly shit job of it.
You forget that they were only 1 squad and a dreadnaught they would last but not very long + They still claimed the hill the orks used as a new landing site for the other Blood Raven chapter members

I think laying a barrage of bullets (let's just say they have unlimited ammo because it's like that in the game) on the oncoming orks who are shooting at the space marines who are behind cover would have killed the orks that were shown in the video. But if I wanted a cool looking battle I would have done exactly what they did xD.

These are space marines, reinforcements are normally few and far between and they might not have known they would even be coming. (This is unlikely) More likely however is that the flag contained their homing becon :P
They dont want the space marines to drop pod onto a building, it would screw them over. Secondly for all we know the beacon could have been the site for an orbital bombardment.

Been playing gears? In all warhammer 40k it has to be a beacon, obviously the gun thing just dont work (e.g teleport homer). Even in the cutscenes in dark crusade their like "Run we shall plant the becon!"
why doesnt the gun thing work... who said teleport =P and sure thats whats in the game, but for 100s of years in the future im sure they coulda come up with a gun-style beacon... =P i.e. rifle that shoots a beacon....
@akiladehan I said teleport homer because its just another example of the beacon being carried rather than fired. firstly they would have to make that technology pretty damn small to fit into something bullet sized. secondly yeh we all consider the 41st millenium 100s of years away, try an extra 0. and thirdly almost every beacon iv seen in every game has to be placed facing in a certain direction. If you fire something onto rough ground, chances are its not going to land the right way up.
@owix2 yah i guess considering that its a game they do need to follow some game rules, but personally, i wouldnt think it impossible to make a homing beacon that doesnt need to land right side up.....

in the time it takes you to fire that many AT weapons at it you have been obliterated by not only the BB, nut craploads of leman russ tanks, Kasrkin, Ogryns, hellhound, chimera's, basalisks and the hoards of guardsmen that were deployed with it.
and orks would never manage to loot a baneblade, they're programmed to self destuct if its about to be captured. the Machine spirit AI would aim to prevent that at all costs

I don't refer to them as the guard, I call them the tank devision with meat shields. Let the grunts soak up the punishment while the armor does it's job. I am a lover of Chaos myself but you can't help but like the orks. They are simply space rednecks with green skin. Who make their weapons and war machines from scratch. Put an ork in a junk yard and in two hours he will come out with a fully functional war machine. You can't get any cooler then that. Who cares what it lookes like.

nukes arn't really that good for taking planets. You nuke all your enemies bases on the planet and you are left with a useless ball of rock that you cant use for the next 10,000 years because of all the radiation.

if you are just knocking out a fortress then they would not even bother with a nuke, an orbital bombardment from the lance batteries on the imperial ships would do just as good.

A): This is not a Dawn of War intro, it does not play in the beginning of Dawn of War. B): Did I say this wasn't an intro? Spliced up scenes from the original intro with nerd star wars music is not an "intro". C): Putting "2" after Dawn of War is a no-brainer for confusion creating misleading text. It's the forty-first millenium. I just watched a group of super soldiers charge a line of axe-wielding orcs. You would think, somewhere in those forty one milleniums, someone would have made it known that running at someone with an axe is generally a poor idea, especially when you and everyone around you is equipped with a ranged weapon.

It's unrealistic and stupid. I think laying a barrage of bullets (let's just say they have unlimited ammo because it's like that in the game) on the oncoming orks who are shooting at the space marines who are behind cover would have killed the orks that were shown in the video. But if I wanted a cool looking battle I would have done exactly what they did xD.

These are space marines, reinforcements are normally few and far between and they might not have known they would even be coming. (This is unlikely) More likely however is that the flag contained their homing becon :P

Been playing gears? In all warhammer 40k it has to be a beacon, obviously the gun thing just dont work (e.g teleport homer). Even in the cutscenes in dark crusade their like "Run we shall plant the becon!"

@akiladehan I said teleport homer because its just another example of the beacon being carried rather than fired. firstly they would have to make that technology pretty damn small to fit into something bullet sized. secondly yeh we all consider the 41st millenium 100s of years away, try an extra 0. and thirdly almost every beacon iv seen in every game has to be placed facing in a certain direction. If you fire something onto rough ground, chances are its not going to land the right way up.
