@flightgearHD fuck...where did you buy yours???? cuz mine sounds like a missfiring v8, and there is nothing gayer than that. But i want my vc to sound like this as well....PLLLEEEEEAAAASSSSEEEE tell me where you bought yours ♥
your gonna fuck up your rotary engine going over 9000 like that, its guys like you that give this car a bad name, guys like you i see in the mazda maintenance bay all the time...
@BadaBingMob you know nothing about rotaries with your bullshit statement. The 9k rpm limit is to save the transmission, not the engine. With out balancing and blueprinting, the stock 13BMSP is good for around 11-12k rpm stock before harmonics start taking over and rattle the engine apart. The transmissions in the first gen RX8 are shit, the second gen are better. The issue with the 13BMSP had to do with the oil injection system.
nice car man i had an 05 rx8 before my evo, there fun cars, leave a lot to be desired for more power, but handling and braking and the interior for that matter, its all very nice. I did like that but a couple thousand in performance mods and no more then 20-30 hp combined is really disappointing though.
@96eg3 That's just it...there's not much to feel. No vibrations, quite linear power delivery...it's not a mind blowing feeling...it's just smooth. The biggest advantage to these engines is their size and weight.
@94XJ It is absolutely awesome... The only problem is fuel consumption, VERY expensive tax and VERY expensive insurance in the UK :( But yeah, pretty perfect explanation!
@joealfreto not necessarily, its possible for carbon build up from low RPM driving to damage the seals, and seize the auxilliary ports. A friend had the first problem, and I personally experienced the second...
@abm89 Mazda has had this indicator on all rotary's going back to 1985 on the Rx-7. It was to prevent people from over revving. If you've driven a rotary, over revving is pretty easy to do.
what a smooth engine

high rpm = faster engine death
stock rx-8 r3 peak power is 8500rpm
there is no need to go beyond 8500rpm unless the engine is modified

pretty fucking high rpm limit for stock engine
ohyes247 9 months ago 26
@ohyes247 I used to have a stock 2005 RX8 and its redline was still 9k, but it doesn't have a rev limiter, so I could take it up to 10-11k

@ohyes247 rotary engine dont have an rpm limit, theyll just keep revving till basically u melt the thing

@ohyes247 Rotary Engine
TheReasonWhyGuy 3 months ago
@ohyes247 the great thing is that those engines can handle going a lot faster than that. the limiting factor is the transmission. :)

@ohyes247 It's a rotary engine,so no comparing it to classic recriprocating piston engines
