I collect K98's so I always enjoy videos about them.

Next time try to work the bolt on your shoulder, the 98 bolt is a bit hard to open but with a little practice it works just fine and its much faster.

Something seems wrong in this video. The comparison of noise in firing and racking the action, the lack of recoil, how the firing further away sounds the same volume as yours. Are you using some very weakly loaded 8mm? Or are you shooting some customized .243?

it's very similar to 30-06 power wise and these are almost 10 pounds rifles from back in the day so the recoil isn't overwhelming at all.

i own a Remington 700 in .243 and as soon as i bought my K98 i always use the '98 on deer. Mine was made by JP Saur in 1940. In my opinion, that K98 beats the shit out of the 700 even on a bad day.

i personally have no experience with the 798s but i would assume all they are is basicaaly a newly made K98. I know a guy that has one but its in .338MAG and here in iowa theres nothing he really uses it for lol

Why were you in such a hurry? These Mausers are pretty darn accurate if you take more time to shoot them. I use my Mausers to hunt all around the world.

Those rifles are great! They are some of the most accurate, reliable rifles ever built. The Swedish Mauser was more accurate, but not as powerful (weaker cartridge). The Mauser stripper clip system in the G98, K98s, & 03A3 was better than in any other rifle of the time. Probably the best bolt action rifle ever made.

After stripping the clip, just close the bolt. Mausers are designed to expel the striper clip. You don't have to remove it by hand.
