I love it when theists say you can't see air how do you know it exists , well all you have to do is freeze 'air' into a liquid and the tar dar you can see air.
@Sikamikanico999 Well, he seems to know the real name of the pastor of the Austin Stone, so he's probably involved or formally involved with the actual church.
@Sikamikanico999 no. he knowledge is fighting against the brawashing in his brain. that takes resorses. allso he is scared to even call bechose of the brainwashing. belive me, i know how hard it is to fight against programing that your parents try to force in to you. its has paralysing influence on your mind.
This Mark proves how these religious nutters can't think for themselves or do anything for themselves, they need their so-called religion to tell them what to do.
In other words they are not capable of any critical thinking.
I know a lot of christians hit their kids, but also love them. And I wonder if that is why it's so easy for them to believe that a "Loving God" could torture them forever for making a mistake?
Is Mark for real, or is he Poe ? Has anyone actually met him or gone to see him at the church ? He seems a bit too much of a perfect fit to the common conception of a religious idiot...
Dang. Tracie went all "mamma tiger" on his ass. She was defending the questioning kids of those crazy Crispies like they were her own cubs...I wish I had someone to go all mamma tiger for me.
@UnderlordZ Hey! Be careful what you say because kids are...okay, if I can't even write it without laughing, I should just stop. Just know it's NOT just you, he DOES!
Mark’s kids and the other kids of the church, your parents still control your daily activities (to some extent), but they cannot control your mind. Keep asking questions. There are many parents that have rid themselves of the god virus because of their non-believing children. Also, there is help if you seek it. And, it is getting easier to find that help every day.
A very good episode and good callers all around. Disagreeing or not, they all provided interesting discussion. The previous comment I might add was about for the first caller.
Is this a REALLY good troll (the best I have ever heard if that's the case) or a real guy? If it is really that bad in places in the US then I seriously feel for you guys. The caller even seems reasonably intelligent and not just some rambling uneducated fool - he just seems unable to break out of the box he has been placed in. I can think of no more horrible fate than to have your mind be imprisoned like that - if this is indeed sincere.
@thatamazinggeek Dude, it's insane. One minute you're talking to a reasonable person, and then suddenly they'll mention how much they talk to Jesus and love him for dying 2000 years ago so that God won't have to torture us forever because Adam ate a piece of fruit. Indoctrination is a powerful thing, especially on children. I couldn't fully escape religion until I moved away from my parents.
I like Russel - but he is horrible at explaining biology, the AE guys should delegate such questions and rather focus on why and to which degree they rely on what actual biologists discovered.
Man, I wish Russel would let the guy answer Tracie's questions. Instead he waits for her to finish and then asks his own questions before the guy responds. She has to be annoyed.
Yes, Tracie was especially good in this one. I couldn't get rid of the feeling, that she was influenced by the information, that kids of Mark's fellow believers were listening. ;-)
Mark showed clearly that he does not think for himself. He referred a number of times to what his preacher had said. He also kept saying "we believe", I didn't hear him say "I believe", is he perhaps wavering?
@ThePaganAtheist Agreed. I personally love this caller. He starts off so sure and pumped up you just know he's spent the last week being spoonfed crap arguments, then a host asks one question and it shatters. I hope he does stop to really think one day, but until then he makes for an interesting or at least funny call.
