like u said this was about 2.5 yrs ago, is there somethign new int he market today which would eliminate the need of three projectors? Also where can I find information for the visual setup using three projectors.
I'm a pilot and i been at flight sim since even before flight sim 95 (Microsoft Gunship 2000 back when having a Compaq 256 Presario in the early 90's meant something). Just found 3 epson projectors for $400 a piece at officemax. I'm so doing this! Great effort/post nic737
Nice try but it does not look anything like a real-life flight, where you can *not* see the horizon as you're climbing and you must constantly check the instrument panel. Flying VFR is NOT all about beautiful sceneries but being able to recognize key landmarks. I am not impressed by this video at all.
This video was posted 2-1/2 years ago and was a simple early test - nothing more. But sounds like you are you a 737-rated pilot who can set us straight about 'real-life flight'. When's the last time you filed a VFR flight plan in your 737 btw? - lol. We do have 737-rated captains who have helped us develop this system into a full-size 737 flight simulator.. so if you have more to add than them - then good - please share. Otherwise it's back to the Cessna with you....
he has enough widht to do right side and left side, only if there was away to adjust the horizontal peripheral viewpoint in fsx......in x-plane it has dat option u can get a much wider field of view

With the amount of money put into this system you could actually get a pilots license and actaully fly a real plane. But then again you might get sick from doing emergency proceedures.
Ok thats like saying the amount of money that people put into a hobby like for example, radio controlled cars, should forget about doing that actually buy a real car??? C'mon dude. Its called a hobby. Do you have a hobby?
so it seems it would take 15 projectors to make a complete front immersion? The screen would need to be curved at just the right amount to make it totally realistic. NICE!!! thanks for uploading
Do you have any problems using your projectors with the TH2G? 1) is this the analog edition, and 2) if so, do you get any problems with the image being offset to the right slightly on each projector?
I've tried 3 different brands of projectors now with the same results, trying to find a way that works!
Hi - I havent experienced that issue. Suggest you try changing video cables, video cards, or the PC to find whats causing the issue by elimination. Have you contacted Matrox support?
Wow! thats a great idea. In cockpit views is the cockpit stretched throughout the 3 screen or does it have the windows on the side and cockpit panel in the middle screen? Great setup, let me know.
when I want to project the 4:3 video via 3 projectors, will the Matrox TH2G make it automaticaly in wide format? will the result be like this video?
or the input video must already be in 16:9 in order to be displayed nice like this?
thank you.

And hats off to you for your efforts!!

Ok.. Im convinced. Im gonna do this. What projectors did you use?
LenweAncalimon 2 years ago
Any HD projector you just need a super strong atleast $1500 dollar computer to run at this extremely high resolution

Finally an idea that I can use. 3 projectors is the key to a true universal image.

IS there a dirver that will make the Matrox G400 work with fsx

You need something in the foreground to give it some scale.

My point exactly. Thank you!

i use triple and it good for multitasking check out ma vid if intersted
masonsoiza 3 years ago
Would it be possible to attach 2 tripleheads to my graphics card? one @ each DVI output.
I'm thinking of creating a cockpit with 6 screens ... upper three the windscreen and the the lower three the controls .
Spyah 3 years ago
yes, you can do this but you would need a powerful graphics card and computer...
jamesnorman93 3 years ago
my question is, does it effect framerates when you use the three screens?????????????
noles33 4 years ago
Yes - but not as much as I expected. Maybe a 20% loss is all.
nic737 3 years ago
@noles33 Some games are worse than others.
My HIS 5850 can run DiRT 2 on max gfx with 38 fps on a 3 display eye inf. but flight sim X will give me like 5 fps.

How do you get that view from outside without any virtual cockpit or other stuff, just under the airplane?
Spanster90 4 years ago
The virtual cockpit has been removed from the aircraft config. But you can also do this in cockpit view by pressing the 'W' key on your keyboard.

OK Thanks!
