I love NIN i have my own solo music thing im trying and trent is my big inspiration im not the best in the world but could i have other peoples opinion on it? its at myspace /rankoffall
i've been watching all the trent reznor interviews on youtube and the poor thing has to repeat the same thing over and over and over again. he uses almost the same sentences too. i still love ya trent! <3
@GiantKiwiProductions well they're asking the same questions. should he assume a different identity and come up with different answers for every interviewer?
I feel bad for German fans. That is some of the laziest subtitling I've ever seen. I understand German and that was a BAAAD interpretation of what he was saying. Bare bones
Ah, The Fragile/tortured-artist era Trent. It's funny how he talks like he's recovered in this interview, because he would reflect in later years how this was the darkest period for him. It's kind of sad and funny how Trent addresses the question at hand in this interview and then somewhat inadvertently trails off into his tale of self-loathing. Incredible artist nonetheless. Cool interviewer, too. He knows how to talk and show respect.
Everybody's guilty of putting their best face forward in public situations...and anyways, stress hits everybody differently. He very well might be the type that turns into an asshole in high pressure situations. I guess he's a bit of a "prima donna" when it comes to his LIFE"S WORK, and I don't blame him, but if he were needlessly rude to ME, I would tell him to chill the fuck out, Woosah ,or kiss my brown ass. And I consider myself a fan of his music. It's just that easy.
Trent is one of the most profound, complex musicians I have ever seen. Im happy he fought his way out of his spiritual abyss and took care of his demons. Your the best Trent. Music wouldn't be the same without you.
It's strange now that I hear about what he was going through at this point of his life, because The Fragile is definitely my favourite NIN album, no, my FAVOURITE album period.
It's kinda sad how a lot of artists get really depressed when they get famous and get everything that they want, isn't it? Fortunately just as well there's people like Trent, who have the strength to move on and part of that strength is making their music.
Hope for you to post opinions, offenses, debating, etc.
that's really true. So many artists are known for this and in the 90's alone there were like Nirvana, Pearl Jam etc. Its because all they want to do is make and play great music, i don't think any humble person would love the paparazi half way up your ass at every waking hour. The only people that like this type of attention are tools of the market like gene simmons or someone
I believe that Trent depression was because (or a part of it) his grandmother, died in that period. O f course, there is the "always" story: too much touring, excess, like drugs and alcohol, and that is not precisely the happiness recipe...
I think you have no ideia of what you're talking about, do you? Do you have any ideia how hard it is to make music? top of his game ''Musically''? That's so freaking subjective.
What if Trent wanted for the other records he wanted another vibe, or to try a new tecnhique he learned(or Instrument). Think before you write that. Seriously.
hm yea, its not really an out of line comment he made. music can be better than other music. period. and i do agree the fragile is one of the greatest albums of all time
it's markus kavka, he's a german VJ on mtv, that interview is pretty old cause he worked for another canal back then. but he's pretty cool he knows what he's talking about.
why did i not know about this interview? it's awesome. The Fragile IMO is the best thing to come out of the 90's even more then albums like Ok Computer or Nevermind. My fav album of all time, it's an all-out masterpiece
he is a fucking god.
