There is no such thing as Rhodesia. It is & has always been known as Zimbabwe. What the British descents call Rhodesia (Rhodes + Area) was named after Cecil Rhodes captured the territory for the British government. The Africans knew it as Great Zimbabwe from the Kingdom of Zimbabwe before European invasions. That is the reason the Africans changed the name back after the fall of Rhodesia.

It's fair to say that the whites in Zim didn't invent it either - they had it partly imposed on them by the Romans and they borrowed part from other cultures.
It wasn't a bad thing for them and it isn't bad for Zimbabwe either. It's an achievement by many people over 1000s of years and Zimbabwe should adopt it and start adding something.

That's your subjective opinion. How does one measure civilization? I wouldn't call proficiency at organized mass murder and proficiency at violent massive land grabs by military force (colonialism) "civilized". People like you do harm to Western civilization by holding up imperialism and subjugation as a value.
Besides, Europe did not technologically pull ahead of the rest of the world until the mid 18th century, after colonialism was underway.

It's superior because it's simply an attempt to create a bigger world in which people can trade. This requires laws and all sorts of things to exist and they have to be of a reasonably common design to work together,
The economic booms happened when the world had been expanded enough. Colonialism has been practised by everyone including the Shona and Ndebele. It's irrelevant.

1) The West's type of trade is mostly mercantilism that primarily benefits itself. There's nothing superior about growing fat by stealing from everyone else.
2) World trade has to do with the fact that most countries in the world (most aren't Western) are drawing closer ties with each other. I don't really see where the West can take credit for that.

Whites and blacks in Africa are going to have to learn to get along some day because neither group is going away. To me Ian Smith and Robert Mugabe represent two misguided ideologies. People have suffered under Smith and Mugabe. Instead of trying to bring back colonialism with a Smith character or black chauvinism during the Mugabe era it's time for change.

1) The IMF is responsible for a lot of Zimbabwe's problems. Though Mugabe is part of the main problem as well.
2) Zimbabwe only prosperous for 5% of the population under its past white leaders. Blacks live on non-arable land in reservations like a dying breed.
3) I doubt you know what a Marxist really is or could explain why one is supposedly 'evil'.
BTW, the new MDC party is socialist and anti-racist. What do you have to say about that?

Marxists have proposed some unrealistic ways of working. 10s of millions have died (gulags, great leap forward etc). Anyone calling themselves marxist probably wants to be part of the "elite" rather than of "the people" so they are suspect.

Tens of millions of people died under 18th and 19th (and 20th) century capitalist regimes as well. Do you know how many people died in the West during the Industrial Revolution? Millions. Most of the deaths in the Soviet Union and Red China were caused by conditions similar to the ones that killed people during earlier capitalist regimes: rapid industrialization, famine and epidemics.

That's true, but their colonialism did not affect the world at large. European colonialism is one of the main reasons why the world outside of the West is in such poverty.

Not good at what? Imperialism? No, the Shona civilization wasn't but some African civilizations were. Historically the Russians were not good at imperialism either, but they learned. So can some African countries.

what's you point? I was was saying that all races, tribes etc colonise. The zulu kingdom expanded hugely under shaka. So my point is the reason why brittain colonised the world was because they were bloody good at sailing and had gun powder. If the african nations had a chance they would not have been any better than the "evil colonialist"

Some countries are still 'socialist' to this day. In fact, there is currently a leftward turn in politics in much of the world right now. Especially in Latin America and parts of Africa.

bullshit, the industrial revolution actually resulted in a population explotion in European countries. So how could it have killed millions of people. And even the deaths that did take place were not violent- not like the mass murder under stalin, moa, cambolia the list goes on
