Fiber should be everywhere telephones are, and the public should pay for it like the interstate system while the private market maintains the service for a very small monthly fee. Currently it costs 40 - 70 dollars for broadband - it should cost closer to 10 dollars after the infrastructure is put in place through public works.

But ya, the U.S. is behind when compaired to Asia/Europe.
