We Are Pilots was good without Carah when they released under Stormwest. Ursula Vari had a raspy, but likable voice. It took me a while to get used to Carah, but when I did, she was by far the better fit.
When Chad, Jeremy and Carah were touring, their tours were always straight-edge. I don't see how spirituality could have been any struggle when the entire group is on the same page of wanting to make it. I wish they wouldn't have forced her out to make that terrible EMO album. The electronica roots that they had are what made them a good group.

She probably did it with her actions or lack there of. Her involvement in the band seems to be the key issue. Clearly she was showing them that she wasn't as actively invested in their projects as Chad and Jeremy. Her leaving the country was probably one of many bad moves.

shiny toy guns did change, seeds of poisen is nothing like we are pilots, i have both albums but on the second one only two or three are good in my opinion. we are pilots was wayyy better.

studio time that you need to make an album. It helps you become who you are and achieve fame which will keep you from being a one hit wonder. If WAP wasn't as successful as it was, this situation wouldn't have even occurred. They did too many drastic changes, too fast, and no one was ready for it.

I am just saying this is going to be like Nightwish letting Tarja go. One could even stretch to compare the death of Stanley for AIC, they should just have pulled a Zep. And it isn't only my opinion, look at the sales for SOP. They are no long Shiny.. Perhaps Mediocre Toy Guns would be more fitting. They just fail to shock and awe like they use to with Carah Faye.
@AbInconvenienti Sales don't make a band. Music and art does. And considering the intensity of the butt-hurt fans, the lack of sales for SOP was understandable.
But you also need to understand that WAP had three versions. By the third, the music was known amongst an already established fanbase.
So sales in this case, are irrelevant. Just as your post is for even bring the subject in as a weapon. STG are doing better than ever right now, thanks to the car commercials. Research, my friend.
Talking about research.. They are covering songs in the commercials. They are not using their actual music. Even Brittney Spears can be layered upon long enough to hold a viewers attention for the duration of a commercial.
And by saying that "butt-hurt" fans and sales are irrelevant, they might as well go back to Oklahoma. They achieved their fan base by hard work and music that appeals to the masses (And a little help from the net). They are losing them due to a dumb decision.
@AbInconvenienti The songs they covered are not the winning note. Since these commercials, their original work has been noticed by more people. It was basically Major Tom that gave the band the recognition lost due to Carah's leave.
People are very much still in love with STG. But sales have lost their relevance a long time ago.
With WAP3, the fan base was great. With SOP, the fan base had decreased due to many upset Carah fans. The album also leaked some weeks before it's release.
That is so juvenile. That's like saying a doctor's patients are irrelevant, or a realitor's clients are irrelevant.
Now something that is completely irrelevant is if a CD is leaked. SOAD's STA was leaked and it didn't hurt them nearly as bad . Also speaking of SOAD, they handled their slip into a 'hiatus' beautifully.
The way this is playing out, it is STG's loss. Not Carah's. STG should have handled this better to the public.

I still love Shiny Toy Guns and I have nothing against Sisley, but I like Carah's vocals better. Hopefully STG's next album will go back to their roots; sophmore albums are always a 50/50 toss.

there is alot more to the story than what was portrayed on this clip. chad and jeremy are awesome guys having met them personally. and carah is no where near the musical talent, or class of personality than the rest of the band. she was headed for the washed up rockstar druggie phase while the rest were still planning on making great records, and they have accomplished that.

@dminor214 I mean, seriously, We Are Pilots was an incredibly great album, and Season of Poison was a huge flop, and quite honestly, just extraordinarily poorly done. Carah's existence on that album would've at least made it bearable, but without her it just epicly fails.

Wow, what a fucked up way to get kicked out of a band. Those guys, Chad and Jeremy, are fucking assholes. Season of Poison is generic rock crap. Carah is much better off without them. Doesn't matter if she didn't write the songs, the ones she sang were only as great as they were because of her. If they wanted Sisley from the beginning, they clearly didn't recognize what they had in Carah.
Weird tangent at the end about religion. I didn't really need nor want to know that about her.

Carah WAS kicked out, and probably not in the best way. However, Chad and Jeremy wrote all the songs, and Carah said that she would just get called in to do vocals. So it's not as bad as tearing out an integral part of the band. Don't get me wrong, Carah had an amazing voice and contributed that fantastically to STG, but she didn't give a lot of input, and in that way, she was just a singer, even if a great one at that :) For all of you who are blind to change, give Season of Poison a listen :D

I am going to get a white poster and go see the NEW Shiny Toy Guns and have my poster say "You fucked up. We Are Pilots is the best and your season of poison is the shit" (with a big middle finger) (: Enough well said. I am disliking Chad & Jeremy. WTF was going through there heads when they got rid of her. Everything does happen for a reason. I am glad she's not with them.

I respect and love STG so much, but I think this was a bad choice of kicking her out. Carah is one of the reasons why I started listening to STG because she has such a unique look and sound. But I still like STG with Sisely. It's just not as great.

Season Of Poison sucks. STG's new vocalist is horrible compared to Carah. STG isn't STG w/o her. Carry on with Versant! I'm Swedish so I am so glad to see you hooking up with Swedish musicians, and I must say the band owns! I love you Carah keep on chuggin :p your a better person than me and I look to you as a role model.
note: this interviewer is good, he asks hard questions that make Carah open up and gives us a look into her.

studio time that you need to make an album. It helps you become who you are and achieve fame which will keep you from being a one hit wonder. If WAP wasn't as successful as it was, this situation wouldn't have even occurred. They did too many drastic changes, too fast, and no one was ready for it.

see a band preform, you just hear a singer. I love Carah Faye's voice and what the band was doing with her as their singer.
Personally, I don't like STG now. I don't like the content, it is less emotional. The sound, cannot compare with We Are Pilots. The voice, weaker.
I was more or less a brokenhearted schoolgirl when the change happened.

Which is far more respectable than doing the same thing over and over. And I think you believing her story more is a bit biased. I can admit that both have told lies.. to me and the public. There are holes ALL OVER the Carah situation.
It's best to accept what it is and move on.

I am just saying this is going to be like Nightwish letting Tarja go. One could even stretch to compare the death of Stanley for AIC, they should just have pulled a Zep. And it isn't only my opinion, look at the sales for SOP. They are no long Shiny.. Perhaps Mediocre Toy Guns would be more fitting. They just fail to shock and awe like they use to with Carah Faye.

@AbInconvenienti Sales don't make a band. Music and art does. And considering the intensity of the butt-hurt fans, the lack of sales for SOP was understandable.
But you also need to understand that WAP had three versions. By the third, the music was known amongst an already established fanbase.
So sales in this case, are irrelevant. Just as your post is for even bring the subject in as a weapon. STG are doing better than ever right now, thanks to the car commercials. Research, my friend.

Talking about research.. They are covering songs in the commercials. They are not using their actual music. Even Brittney Spears can be layered upon long enough to hold a viewers attention for the duration of a commercial.
And by saying that "butt-hurt" fans and sales are irrelevant, they might as well go back to Oklahoma. They achieved their fan base by hard work and music that appeals to the masses (And a little help from the net). They are losing them due to a dumb decision.

@AbInconvenienti The songs they covered are not the winning note. Since these commercials, their original work has been noticed by more people. It was basically Major Tom that gave the band the recognition lost due to Carah's leave.
People are very much still in love with STG. But sales have lost their relevance a long time ago.
With WAP3, the fan base was great. With SOP, the fan base had decreased due to many upset Carah fans. The album also leaked some weeks before it's release.

That is so juvenile. That's like saying a doctor's patients are irrelevant, or a realitor's clients are irrelevant.
Now something that is completely irrelevant is if a CD is leaked. SOAD's STA was leaked and it didn't hurt them nearly as bad . Also speaking of SOAD, they handled their slip into a 'hiatus' beautifully.
The way this is playing out, it is STG's loss. Not Carah's. STG should have handled this better to the public.
