I do believe Zac made the right choice...I mean when it comes to career moves you have to not only think with your heart, but with your intellect as well. He has become quite an accomplished actor. I could really see that his acting skills have become finely tuned by his excellent role in '17 again'....Loved It...(Although they did somehow work in a dance routine into the script.) I think that zac efron made the right choice I never watched any hsm movies but liked him in hairspray and 17 again. Remember people everyone thought that Johnny Deep and Leo DeCaprio were screwing up there carrers but look at them now. I say go for it.

here is no doubt that zac would have done a GREAT job in footloose, but it was smart of him not to take it. the original footloose was an AMAZING movie and would have been ruined if it was remade. kevin bacon was sooo good in the first that people would have hated zac just for attempting to do the same things kevin bacon did in that movie. they still should not remake it because nothing could live up to the original footloose movie :)

You know, I've just come across this, but it makesa ton of sense, since I've always found Chace and Zac very similar in regards to their appearance. I'm so glad Chace is doing it, but I do think that Zac is more of the 'musical' type. I wouldn't say one is better than the other, they just have different acting experience... and it's really hard not to type-cast them. They are only well-known for certain shows.

I for one will not watch this movie just because the dumb shits don't know enough to not fix what isn't broken. That also goes for the remake of The Karate Kid (The Kung Fu Kid) with the director Will Smith's son and Jackie Chan.

i think he did a good choice. he was only given roles for musicals. he's a good actor and i think he did 17 again pretty good especially because there was no singing [not the musical type] but yeah if he hadn't made that decision they would always see him as the singing dancing and acting actor and not as a serious actor with talent

Hmm, well, I think it's simply an interesting turn of events. I think he is typecasted and I always figured it was because, gasp, he's good at singing, dancing and *sometimes* acting. It makes since thathe should be in musicals, and I think it's a semi-bad choice to discourage that, since it's a good use of his talent. But if it's not what he wants to do that's his business. I may not like him that much but I still think it's up to him & it may be bad for his career if he snuffs out musicals.

I do believe Zac made the right choice...I mean when it comes to career moves you have to not only think with your heart, but with your intellect as well. He has become quite an accomplished actor. I could really see that his acting skills have become finely tuned by his excellent role in '17 again'....Loved It...(Although they did somehow work in a dance routine into the script.) He has a promising future ahead...if he takes his time, aims high and paces himself...I wish him all the best!
