@Abcflc I think it would be a good idea to use those wasted materials to build more trains and subways. You could even link one car to another to create an improvised train (ridiculous but useful). Everything's better than the current situation; a polluted chaos with lots of asleep, immature, drugged or drunk drivers crashing against each other. Maybe in your country that's not an issue, but here in AR people is not mature enough to respect other drivers and follow the traffic regulations.

@Kurayasibux Me refiero a que en una ciudad sería suficiente con que sólo hubiera muchos metros/subtes y trenes. Tal vez también tranvías y autobuses que hicieran recorridos fijos. Eso causaría poquísimos accidentes, especialmente con un buen control de tráfico donde se controlaría donde está cada tren, etc. No se puede comparar asi el transporte público con un montón de autos yendo de un lugar a otro de forma caótica, algunos corriendo carreras, otros sin respetar las reglas de tránsito, etc.

@XanderTG Walking is fine for very short distances but it doesn't remove the need for vehicles. I do agree this isn't the answer - first, there is no need for it to be human driven, humans are extremely unreliable and 95% of accidents are caused by human error, so automated PRT is a better idea. Electricity however is definitely the future - using coal is just a nasty side effect of the profit motive, not because it's in any way a good idea, and it has to go.

I find this diffident man talking in a barely audible volume about his silly-looking little vehicle rather annoying.

However, I think the concept has great potential. Although it looks like it might be fun to ride in, I don't think I want people staring at me sitting in it. The windows need to be made of maybe something like photochromic glass with a reflective coating for privacy.

I think this is a GREAT idea, however it will never fully be accepted in urban or any environment because people will not give up the experience of driving. People will always want to drive fast, have muscle cars, ride Harleys, throw spoilers on Honda Civics, etc.
