@Picardy yes, I always wondered about that strange pronunciation too. I remember playing this song for a girl I knew named Andrea, and her first comment was, "Wow, they make it sound so exotic!"
I remember hearing this song about 1960 something, and completely forgot about it! I know in the early 70's, I started recording all my music on cassets, because I thought all this stuff would disappere! I can't believe we didn't nuke ourselves from the earth! But since we didn't, it's nice to go back and listen!
@7tarn they had don ralke arrangeing them he did the letterman and the many moods of murry wilson the lettermans vocals get a little sickening sometimes
Great song. Heard it once on Radio Scotland's American top 100 show. Thought it would rocket up the British top 50 ... but it didn't. Still waiting ....
Can't you just picture Murray Wilson standing off-camera screaming, "SMILE DAMMIT!"

@HangTenHangmen hahah - yes I can imagine it. I wonder if it was Murray who suggested they pronounce it "Un-drea".

the reason this group didn't last is because Murray was involved and his musical talent was juvenile compared to Brian's genius.

Thanks for posting. Great beach song of the 60s. Epitomize teen life in SoCal circa 1965.
