Why did Alexis stand up? Why were Alexis and Carly so shocked to see one another? Was is something beyond seeing her come back from the dead?

I Think Alexis truly believed like the others that Carly was dead and with her coming back she knew that her one night with Sonny will remain that one night. Back then Alexis was really in love with Sonny

Shortly before Carly had "died", she had walked in on Alexis and Sonny in bed making love. She left in a hurry and crashed her car and had decided to punish Sonny for sleeping with Alexis by faking her death.
