got my college degree and still searching for my path in life, experiencing an overdue spiritual episode. Beggining to awaken from my conditioned mind, see the world from a new perspective and find the power within to achieve everything i desire. Striving to live a 100% spiritual and 100% material life.
And no man, it's not crazy or dangerous to go after your dreams. You're right; when we were little kidds they basically said the world is your oyster. They lied. I think it makes them happy to lead the next generation on, see our hope.. even when it's crushed I think it makes them reminiscent. But that's not the problem anyhow. This year I'm putting all I have into buying an acre... I wanna get off the grid, grow crops... maybe it's crazy but there's no place I'd rather be. I'm shooting stars :)
I think forcing us into this structure and "career-ism" as you say isn't right for everybody. In fact, most who do it are not even content, they just do it because they have to in order to "survive". This system, as I put it, is not for me personally, but my brain is very structured... I know a lot of people who don't appreciate being molded into what society thinks is intelligence or value... society misses a lot this way. Do what you love, nothing else is worth the suffering.
You're right about how saying that anyone can do whatever they want is pretty much bs. We all can't achieve the same amount of success, and definitely not with the same amount of satisfaction. The whole American, pick yourself up by your bootstraps and reach for the stars attitude is an impossibility. Although, I don't think chasing your dreams is ever something to regret, even if it does end in failure. "Do what you love and fuck all the rest." And don't worry, you'll find your path.Stay strong
I went to a vocational school for 2 years to study computer technology. And after graduating from there I don't even work with computers now because I hated it. And now i question a lot everyday as to what i want to do now. And can't come up with an answer.
I think if you just get an album on iTunes or something you will be amazed how many people would listen to your music. I would buy an album for full price and Im sure most of my friends would to. Does anyone else agree with me?
I think you if you knew what you wanted to do and fucking tryed hard enough you might have a different opinion then venting to YouTube about how sorry you feel for yourself
if he was in the army for 10 years that means he just finished this year yet he has 2 full businesses working at an office and goes to school full time? :S
I know how you feel. The only thing I can say is find something you love and figure out how to make money at it. I was in my thirties when I found that something and in my forties when I found a way to make money doing it. College is a good place to found something that you are passionate about. Good luck!
i was accepted to purdue university for mechanical engineering, that was my second choice for major not my firs I decided to think it over, and in the process of thinking ended up screwing myself out of my spot at the school. I regreted that decision and i will always have that what if...but im pursuing my dreams right now, ive been studying and already have certifications to be an IT technition, within the next year i hope to be a certified computer enginneer..LIVE DREAM SUCCEED
I WISH I HAD A PASSION. or even one iota of ambition. Sadly i havent a frakin clue what i want to do with my life. hell i have no idea why i even bother looking for something to do with it. I simply exist for the sake of existing. Im only 23 and ive never said :hey i wanna do that!" or "THIS is what i wanna be one day!" I envy those who have drive and ambition.
Thats about how i feel. I'm in my second year of university studying to be something that i really don't know if i want to be but i can't think of anything else i'd rather be so i just keep showing up and handing in assignments while every week feels exactly like the last.
I don't understand what you mean. In America, it is nearly impossible to starve now and living in poverty means you probably have a vehicle, icebox, television, computer with internet, and furniture. What is stopping you from following what it is you want to do? That is a sad outlook on life and an impractical one as well. Put the materialism in the closet for a while and just try and be happy with living. You might be surprised at how it feels. TLDR: Stop whining and do what you dreamed of.
yea, i want to become a stunt man but its kinda hard to get started, somepeople say you have to do certain things to become one and others say you can hop right on in. its a little shady.
I'm writing my first book. I'm working a shitty job to pay rent and so forth and it sucks, but I love to write, or rather, create a story. If that makes any sense lol. If I ever finish my story, I don't know what's gonna happen afterwards and that worries me. Hopefully I get it published, people like it and I'll continue to create. It won't pay much and that also worries me, but I continue doing it I'm passionate about it. I try not to think about the what ifs and just keep going. It's not easy.
yeah i have no idea what i'm doin, i've got a part time job, i gradutaed from highschool last june, i dont have my license, no car, not attending college, and i just dont seem to have that drive to get myself off my ass to go do all that stuff thats needed. also lately i've been doing nothing but getting up from bed late in the day, like around 2. i used to be the guy who'd get up at like 8-11 am. but yeah life is not something i know what to do with right now.
Yeah man. I totally understand where you're coming from. I'm lost with my life, too. And passions? My idealism has died when I entered college. Why? Because reality is a bitch.
It is awesome, ain't it? To talk, even though all of us are technically strangers here.
But yeah man. We'll figure it out soon. Good luck with your endeavors. Peace.
thanks for this video, i now know there is someone like me, someone who thinks the same about the shit that goes on around us :) we should get together for a drink some time, all the best
A guy once told me, find your strengths, make a list every day for a month, everytime you are doing something that makes you happy or think alot or really needing more, write it down. at the end of the month read through it and find out what you did that you like, these are your strengths, try to move your life slowly but surely towards doing those things more and more. you will be happy, and in turn the people you work with and live with will be happy in turn. there is alot too it but yeah :P
You know I feel like that, bub. Stick with me. Once I get this job, I'll start paying all the bills while you put your music out there. And you know Rigsby will stick around. I wish Justen wanted to come with us...
Im 16, i have my whole life in front of me, but I feel exactly the way you do. Like you said, i dont want to wake up one day when im 40 and realise my whole life has gone to waste, but at the same time, I have no idea what i want to do when im finished with school.
man i feel the same way. everyday after day i am forced to do things that i never intened to do. i mean school is ok and all but what if id doesnt hep in the end. i feel that im not really living, ya know. i want to just get out there. take the world by the horns and just live.
hmm i fell ya even tho im probably the yougest viewer here at 13! i have no idea what i want to do in life even tho im mildly intelligent lol at first i wanted to be a fire worker. but i've got asthma and i dont think smoke inhaliation is good for me. then i wanted policticsa but my religeon fobids that. then a singer i found out that im the msot outta tune fucker and now ether a doc or a lawyer lol but i have no idea wtf i want to do wiht my depressing life
omg man im so loveing your vids at the mo, you have razed some good isuse,
Im 33 and i was a bricklayer for 10 years, i worked for and with my dad. i had very good money worked from 7am till 1am and had the affternoon off.
my dad died at the age of 60 two years ago now, and man im lost, i was so fucking crushed when that happend that now i spend all day on my pc. playing guitar and on 360. iv put load of weight on loads. i was like 13 stone and now 20,very depressed, and no direction. i feel ya
I'm 20 and i've been playing guitar for 7 years, I know how you feel because playing shows and getting respect for my music is perty much the most self gratification I've gotten out of life. I know if I could make a decent living out of it, I would never set foot inside another office. I would say to hell with school too, because I know I would be completely content. I have no idea what to do with my life, and I don't think I'll be happy with a big old slice of normality either. Life is funny.
I'm only 16 and i know exactly what you're talking about. I'm at college at the moment and i only went because i have no fucking idea what i want to do in the long term.
I think that there are 2 sides to everything, I truly believe that our lives, cannot be all good. If you have to get a job, just to get a job, to then on your off time pursue your passion, then thats what you have to do.
That guy from your office, do you think his one true passion is the office job he works with you at? Probably not, but he is getting by with his current job, so that he can pursue his true passion.
dude the key to life is just to live. nobody ever knows where they are going, we just end up there. sure there is ambitious people and there are lazy people, but they will still end up where they are meant to be. offcourse everyone wonders where they are going and what will they make of their life. but in all truth and honesty, we were not put on earth to go places, we were put here to appreciate OUR place, wherever we may fit.
Man I just got back from a 2 hour late night walk just thinking about life, im in the same situation for the most part... I'm in school for a class that i dont give two shits about. I don't wanna get a job just to have a job...live the way we are told to

Hmm.... I'm afraid I don't quite agree with you saying that it's far from the truth.
Sure, you need training and stuff, but it shouldn't be simply out of your grasp.
Of course, starting while in school helps.
Then again, I'm only 14 - so yeah.
I suppose my advice to you is simply this:
Think about what YOU want to do.
Plan out the training for any prerequisites.
Apply to those people who look out for jobs for you.
Basically what I'm saying is - don't just wait.
DIY.
