I remember this, the only reason why this show was done was because Saban wanted to do something before Disney took complete control over the show because they weren't sure if Disney was going to show any of the older episodes.

This was mid-Lost Galaxy, I think, Disney didn't get the show till Wild Force, three years later. This was just a milestone episode (300 of 'em, they said).

Actually Disney did purchase Saban in 1999, but Disney still kept the show under Saban's name until the end of Wild Force. Haim Saban completely left it in 2000 to go into politics, but the company Saban was still running until Disney shut it down to move the show into BVS (which was new at the time), which now films the show in New Zealand.
