My suggestion (and I am being serious I am not being funny) would be for you to become a producer and when you become a little older get into the music industry and start discovering, producing and launching new artist that actually have some talent b/c that is the problem. It's because America slipped into a recession in 2007, 2008, and 2009. When the economy changes, record labels force singers to change music to be "radio friendly" with annoying synths and overly-used bass. There is nothing wrong with "radio friendly". It's pretty awesome. It's just that most songs back then were a little bit generic. It seems like music sucks today, but that's only because the most popular artists today like Rihanna & Justin Bieber suck. It's because of the people demanding it.
I totally agree with you. Souja Boy (or however you spell it) was the worst song I ever heard. I was in Middle School when it was popular, and people would sing it in the hallways and do the dance. It was probably the worst year of school in my life. It's also the year I discovered headphones.

I play piano, sing, write my own lyrics and produce my own songs, I also play drums. I almost guarantee that I will never be famous because when I write Lyrics I write to inspire free thought, I will continue onward for what I believe in though because that is more meaningful to me. While watching bands like LMAO come in and out of this world with over 170 million views for talking about being sexy I will feel slightly disappointed for my generation.

If you grab the instrumental of "I Gotta Feeling" by BEP and throw Flo Rida's "Club Can't Handle Me Right Now" acapella (voice only) it fits in PERFECTLY and songs aren't supposed to EXACTLY alike.

It's facts that artists back in the days mostly (if not all) triumph the artists today. They prove you can be a totally awful singer and you'll still get a record contract. Today's rap mostly consists of talking about booty, sex, drugs, money, fame, haters, clubbing ect. which almost end up sounding like the same thing with just a catchy beat. That's not how a real musician makes music.

Look at old ballads and some of the 90s and early 00s. many talked about relationships, love, heartbroken, being cheated on ect. which were relatable, but the sound (composition) was completely different. If you grab the instrumental of "I Gotta Feeling" by BEP and throw Flo Rida's "Club Can't Handle Me Right Now" acapella (voice only) it fits in PERFECTLY and songs aren't supposed to EXACTLY alike.
