The thing most people seem to not know about the Halo shogun is that it's an 8 gauge. That's a larger shell than a 12 gauge. Much larger. An 8 gauge shell is 3.5 inches across. That's a huge shell. A blow-your-shoulder-off-when-yo­u-shoot-it-huge shell. If takes that much power to blast through an Elite's shield I'm actually surprised that the other human weapons do as much as they do. Even the sniper. The human weapons are NOT under-powered.

its not a freaking barret, the .50 they are refering to is the gatling gun on the back of a warthog. M41 LAAG. and i believe a basket ball is over a foot wide. and if you look at some curret histoicle things, smaller calibers are becoming more common

50cal has nothing to do with Barret. Also the MAC gun station at the beginning of the game is essentially a giant space gun, so they are way ahead of ya on that one.

Using the barret doesnt bother me as much as the use of an ordinary pistol grip 8 gauge shotgun in the year 2500. HELLO, Anyone heard of the AA-12 that we're using now? If not, look up "Future Weapons AA-12." That thing is BEASTLY and would pwn the shit out of the flood.

Except the AA12 is bulky, heavy (though this helps with recoil) and over-engineered. If it aint broke don't fix it.

Also look up the saiga 12 if you want a more manageable (and cheaper) automatic shotgun. Though it also has its flaws.

Well, honestly war hasn't really changed any since like WW1. Then, we blew stuff up and shot what was left with any variety of weapons. Now... we blow stuff up and shoot whats left with pretty much the same kind of weapons.

Well, if you have any strategic value for anything, you wouldn't use nukes. Halo 1, maybe they coulda used some on the Covanent on Reach, but other than that, nuke halo? Wouldn't happen. Halo 2, that bomb the Covanent used in the opening level, the one that chief ended up giving back to the Covanent, probably was a nuke. They aren't going to nuke earth or anything, nor Delta Halo or the Ark, so where is any room for nukes? Besides, chief is a better weapon anyway.
