if you take care of your PC, you won't have to worry about viruses, spyware, slow downs, crashes, etc. (not once have i experienced ANY of that stuff during the 6 years i owned a PC)
Only thing is, TF2 is based off of a 7 year old graphics engine, and Skyrim must be played at basic settings in order to maintain any sort of playable FPS. That's the problem.
Pc is hardware for linux distros and windows. Apple made this commercials and they suck.
Mac is a pc hardware with apple sticker and unix os (linux is free and better)! If you like mac os you can buy pc hardware and install mac os by hazard on it, there is no need to give 3000$ more for apple sticker!
@GaGiCF No you dont sound like youve ever been remotely close to a mac. OS X was based off of next step. Next computers OS. Although it was UNIX based it is far from UNIX. UNIX is an equivelent to MS DOS they are both very old. You actually can boot up into UNIX on macs as a backup OS though.
I tried a mac. It can make photobook, browse web, play windows games in wine or parallel desktop. Linux can do all that and more for free and its also unix based os!
@GaGiCF I have actually used both Windows and multiple Linux operating systems. And Linux is an incredibly powerful system. But OS X is much less of a hassle to set up. But it does require a Apple system. But Linux just can't do the same amount of things for personal use. I have a computer with Ubuntu and Windows on it but I'm currently repairing it.

@GovGoose I do take the hassle part back. I was using both Windows and Ubuntu on the same hard disk and Windows was hogging space making Ubuntu have kernel panics and crap. I also use OS X Ubuntu and Windows and I love all of them. But OS X is very advanced and people saying it sucks are ignorant and stupid.

The funniest thing about these commercials is that they were paid for by Microsoft. Apple was on the verge of bankrupcy in 1997. Microsoft invested 150 million into apple because microsoft was being accused of having a monopoly, and without apple, stood to lose before a grand jury. Windows invested 150 mil and that deal also put windows office into mac.
So basically Microsoft kept apple alive so it would not be accused of a monopoly.
Had they not, Apple would have been out of business in 97.
Commercials that say I have this and my competitor doesn't should have a grain of truth. these commercials generalize PC into nothing more than a business computer, but PC had Windows Media Player, software for photo management, and a larger amout of avilible software. Mac has done great things in schools, Apple for the teacher program etc. and there new mobile platform rocks, Iphone, Ipod, Ipad. But these commercials are just too one sided.
Apple's got thrice the ads of any computer manufacturer. Not to mention laboratory-inspired colors and eloquent design pretty much proves that showmanship is all they've got going for them. A pretty decent business strategy, but nothing more.
Still, Apple made iPods and iTunes, as well as a plethora of genuine advancements in technology. I'll give them more than a little credit for that.
@johnwitty010101 Try running Sony Vegas, about any game released somewhat recently, or the plethora of Windows only programs on your Mac natively. Good rule of thumb, if you can do it on a Mac, you can do it cheaper on with Windows, but the reverse is not true.

Just keep in mind that your peak operating potential is significantly less on a Mac. Yes, you can Bootcamp Windows, but your performance isn't going to match a cheaper PC. That's the tradeoff. You're paying a significant amount of money to run Windows on a machine that isn't really making waves from a hardware standpoint. To match my $1500 mid-range rendering rig, I'd need a $4000 customized iMac. Keep that in mind.
you can do more on a Windows 95 PC than any computer Mac made before 2005.
Took them 10 years to make a decent computer. The 2004 iMac all-in-one was horrible down to it's incapatiblity with Java and it's round-one button mouse.
Personaly, I dont see much a difference between Macs and PCs. I used to love my PC desktop, and couldn't stand using a Mac, but now I love me Macbook and cannot use PCs at all. I think it all just depends on what you're used to.
I've crashed a mac and never a Microsoft machine. Macs are for people who spend their time on Facebook, you tube, tumblr, and pretend like they are making things in final cut. I wouldn't dislike them so much if they actually used good hardware for the amount of money you pay for it.

To be fair, Apple's market share has surged thanks to good sales of iPhone 4S in Oct and Nov (just in time for Christmas), but as we all know, quarterly reports are what matter, not two months. Who says they love them? That's conjecture and speculation. iPhones account for only 25% of the smartphone market. Android has dominated the globe. Most smartphones have MP3 playback capability which has driven down demand for iPods substantially. iPads are simply oversized iPhones, and nothing more.

Actually, there were plenty of MP3 players out there that were wonderful to listen to music on, and were about 1/4 the size as well, to maximize portability. Sony had a few, and Creative Labs had a few. They didn't require you to go through the torture of syncing to the atrocious iTunes software. As for the Tablet, nope. Tablets were out as far back as 2002 before Apple even conceived of them.

Only, it's not better, and in most cases, inherently worse. When I buy a luxury brand vehicle, I expect it to run circles around a mid-range one. When a Mac gets bested in benchmarks, has even worse security, and a lifespan of 12 months, then it's a bad pricing decision.
Think of it this way: Acura and Infiniti don't exist in Japan. Why? Because Honda and Nissan invented them for the western market who think bigger sticker price means better quality.

Apple tries to lock its users in. It's a neat and comfortable cell, I'll give you that, but it's a cell nontheless.
I'm impressed by Apple's marketing and its effects on people however. Not that I think it was good to establish this marketing newspeak (that false Mac/PC dichotomy for example) of theirs or that this kind of influence was any good at all, but I admire the skill behind that. Just keep in mind that your peak operating potential is significantly less on a Mac. Yes, you can Bootcamp Windows, but your performance isn't going to match a cheaper PC. That's the tradeoff. You're paying a significant amount of money to run Windows on a machine that isn't really making waves from a hardware standpoint. To match my $1500 mid-range rendering rig, I'd need a $4000 customized iMac. Keep that in mind.

Took them 10 years to make a decent computer. The 2004 iMac all-in-one was horrible down to it's incapatiblity with Java and it's round-one button mouse.

Personaly, I dont see much a difference between Macs and PCs. I used to love my PC desktop, and couldn't stand using a Mac, but now I love me Macbook and cannot use PCs at all. I think it all just depends on what you're used to.

To be fair, Apple's market share has surged thanks to good sales of iPhone 4S in Oct and Nov (just in time for Christmas), but as we all know, quarterly reports are what matter, not two months. That stretch will shrink yet again, sending Android to the top of the heap as the predominant smartphone platform in the world, leaving Apple sucking dust.

Who says they love them? That's conjecture and speculation. iPhones account for only 25% of the smartphone market. Android has dominated the globe. Most smartphones have MP3 playback capability which has driven down demand for iPods substantially. iPads are simply oversized iPhones, and nothing more.

@carbine781 actually, ipods were a revolution in itself, it was the first company to ever produce a decent portable machine to listen to music... while ipad was the first of his kind, its slowly decreasing because their competitor (like samsung, amazon, Asus, Lenovo, Acer and so forth...) has come up with a tablet... that has flash! and for the iPhone, let me just lol at you and say Android is dominating the market
and FYI, its because of Windows helping Apple that you have a decent OS for Mac

Actually, there were plenty of MP3 players out there that were wonderful to listen to music on, and were about 1/4 the size as well, to maximize portability. Sony had a few, and Creative Labs had a few. They didn't require you to go through the torture of syncing to the atrocious iTunes software. As for the Tablet, nope. Tablets were out as far back as 2002 before Apple even conceived of them.
