I just watched it. I liked it. I thought it was shot really well and I didn't find the shakey camera movements too distracting. I liked the characters and found myself completely sucked into the film while I was watching. Unfortunately the ending for me kind of fell a little flat. I don't mind 'sad' endings but I think I needed a tiny tiny bit more. :) xx

I had a large drink and a large container of popcorn and I never even came close to feeling sick. This is coming from someone who gets carsick fairly easy.
The movie was OK; slightly entertaining while it lasted but very short and disappointing at the end. It definitely isn't an "OMG IT WAS AMAZING GO WATCH IT" type of movie. People nowadays are just too easily impressed and entertained.
Cloverfield was awesome!!! Lots of action, suspense, and amazing scenes of things. It was a nice end of the world type of movie, with good pacing. Shakiness of cam did not bother me, because once you get into the movie you don't notice it anymore. Spectacular movie, gave me a surreal type of feeling after I left. Two thumbs up!

First, you gave away the ending entirely. Second, one of the biggest questions about the movie is 'what is it?' and you gave that away too. You are ruining it.

(part 2 of my comment) The ending was kinda disappointing, but the rest of the movie was awesome. Saw it yesterday. I LOVED IT! the shaky camera was a little annoying at the begining, but i got used to it after a while. I loved the part where they're walking in the subway tunnel and Huds talking about the flaming homeless people. everybody was laughing their asses off in the theater. When the helicopter crashes and they get out and Hud gets "chewed up" by the monster, but seems to have no damage was awesome. (ps. THE MONSTER WAS BADASS!)
but that was one of the worst movies i've ever seen.

Cloverfield completely FAILED to live up to the hype. A "Monstrous" waste of time. Abrams lost control of the project less than half-way through but had to stick to the ridiculous plot and perspective taken from a single cameraman. Way over-hyped with no delivery. A Major disappoinment.
Save your money and stick to movies made by the true giants....

I loved it too! I was freaked out by it... i thought the shakey camera was ok cause i got used to it after a while.. But man, that tunnel scene was scary man... and the helicopter scene was scary too..
I liked it man. I thought it was inovative and a the scene cuts where a great way of telling the back story with out actually telling the back story.
The other thing I took away from it was that even if you don't dig the story line, look at it from the sociological perspective. Its like a study of peoples behavior in the worst possible scenario. Hud's commentary during the worst parts for instance.

I had a large drink and a large container of popcorn and I never even came close to feeling sick. This is coming from someone who gets carsick fairly easy.
The movie was OK; slightly entertaining while it lasted but very short and disappointing at the end. It definitely isn't an "OMG IT WAS AMAZING GO WATCH IT" type of movie. People nowadays are just too easily impressed and entertained.

Cloverfield was awesome!!! Lots of action, suspense, and amazing scenes of things. It was a nice end of the world type of movie, with good pacing. Shakiness of cam did not bother me, because once you get into the movie you don't notice it anymore. Spectacular movie, gave me a surreal type of feeling after I left. Two thumbs up!

I was telling my honest opinion about the movie and there are lots of other people who have said stuff like that becuse it was their opinion so if you dont like it then you can just get over it!

I saw the movie yesterday and I absolutly loved it. BUT there was a point in the movie where I got really scared because I was so sure I was going to barf from motion sickness. Than a good part happened and i was like hmmm nevermind i'd throw up and not even realize it this part is so good. lol.

(part 2 of my comment) The ending was kinda disappointing, but the rest of the movie was awesome. I stayed after the credits to see what was there and i say theres a good chance theres gonna be a sequel, do i want there to be a sequel? no. but i wouldnt mind seeing it. i will deffinitly be seeing this movie again.

Saw it yesterday. I LOVED IT! the shaky camera was a little annoying at the begining, but i got used to it after a while. I loved the part where they're walking in the subway tunnel and Huds talking about the flaming homeless people. everybody was laughing their asses off in the theater. When the helicopter crashes and they get out and Hud gets "chewed up" by the monster, but seems to have no damage was awesome. (ps. THE MONSTER WAS BADASS!)

well i couldnt really pay much attention to the movie cause the shaky camara then i sat right in the front cause all the seats were full.....i thought i was gonna puke.
But one thing i liked was when the head of the state of liberary fell off...that was really coool....the effects were cool...it was cool when tht girl was bleeding from her eyes....

After Brent's recommendation...I went to go see the movie. I sooo wanted to enjoy it as much as Brent did. Brent was right when he said that the movie is polarizing...that you'll either love it or hate it. I'm sorry to say....I didn't love it. :( I sooo wanted to, though! Oh, well....maybe next time.

OMG, i saw this movie at midnight after the movie I was completely blown away!! The effects were great and the sound was amazing. After the movie I could hear people saying that it sucked. I was like, wat the hell? This movie is very cinematic, and if you guys dont see it, then u r missing out!! Nice review by the way, very accurate. The guy that sat below me, threw up. lol

omg i saw cloverfield yestrday night. i got there right before it started so i was in the SECOND ROW!! =[ i started getting a headache. but i was worth it!! did u stay till the end of the credits? i think that means they will have a sequel and its gonna be from another cameras point of view.(i heard that somewhere)

Yes i agree with you, however many others wont. there are many mixed reviews about this movie some say it sucked, others say its great. I do know, however, if this movie sucks or not, it will become famous and you can expect a lot of parody's, and cameos from this thing.

thank you.. somebody who finally doesn't complain about the camera work. It was for full effect, and wasnt as shaky as every one said it was. Exactly, it's probably a love or hate it situation. I liked it.

Cloverfield completely FAILED to live up to the hype. A "Monstrous" waste of time. Abrams lost control of the project less than half-way through but had to stick to the ridiculous plot and perspective taken from a single cameraman. Way over-hyped with no delivery. A Major disappoinment.
Save your money and stick to movies made by the true giants....

I liked it man. I thought it was inovative and a the scene cuts where a great way of telling the back story with out actually telling the back story.
The other thing I took away from it was that even if you don't dig the story line, look at it from the sociological perspective. Its like a study of peoples behavior in the worst possible scenario. Hud's commentary during the worst parts for instance.

i really, really want to see this flic, but i must admit i am hyper sensitive to the shaky camera - motion sickness thing. i saw the imax movie about the serengeti and they had this swooping shot of the valley from a helicopter and that made me so sick. Gigi

Saw it again, with my girlfriend. She didn't think she would like it at all just cause of the shaky camera issue, and motion sickness... But when she walked out all she said was 'That was so FREAKING AMAZING!' She's on the same page as Brent and I.
Just go see it people, you never know how you'll feel until you do.
