  • dude my axe fxe is not responding to the axfe effects edit :( i cant figure out why :( can you help me out ??

  • @MrGoth777 There are many factors which could be causing your unit not to communicate with your computer, so I don't think there is an easy answer for that. I would ask that same question in as much detail as possible in the official Fractal Audio Forum. There are many really knowledgeable people there ready and willing to help, and most probably some other users will have asked that same question, and you might as well just find the answer reading through other people's posts. thanks for asking

  • man is that ever tasty!

  • Tone discussion is a lot like a religious discussion. We've always done it this way so anything new or progressive must be bad.

  • hey man..how did you get your guitar to sound through your computer? i'd really appreciate your help. Thanks God bless

  • I'm sure the axefx is a wonderful tool, but this sounds nooothing alike my ac30 or my mesa ta15.. dynamics?

  • Responder a este vídeo... The AxeFx sounds definitely better. You can post your sample here to compare. And it took me less than 3 minutes to put this sound up. I'm wondering how long it would take you - at least 1 minute just to let the tubes warm up... -. How long to find the "right" place for the mic? Dynamics? Plenty! Try one yourself. I bet you'll put your AC30 on ebay two minutes afterwards.

    Peace.

  • @raulin I doubt the AxeFX sounds better than a real Vox AC30 other wise im pretty sure Brain May and The Edge wouldn't use the Vox.

And most guitarist are really worried about waiting for tubes to warm up, Infact it adds to the magic of a valve amp. Digital amps always sound sterile no matter how good or expensive they are. Having said that I'd love an AxeFX, but thats only because I can't afford 20 different valve amps.

  • @davek71 Well, it does sound better than a real AC-30, as it can sound exactly the same plus you can tweak beyond the physical capacity of the real amp (+ the built-in world-class effects). l indeed recommend you to try one yourself. Just wait, and you'll see Brian and The Edge touring with an AxeFx (and a wall of dummy Voxes behind).

    Peace.

  • @raulin If it sounds 'better' than an AC 30 then it doesn't sound like a AC 30. The AC 30 has worked since the 60s so ill stick with that. rather than a digital copy

  • @davek71 I mean, it can sound EXACTLY like a '61 AC30 (so similar nobody could tell apart the difference - that was done a couple of years ago when the AxeFx first came out) plus what I already mentioned. Plus tube technology is way obsolete. You can stick to it as long as you want (well, as long as tube supplies last), but some time you'll be forced to change - like cars working with petrol. I still own a couple of tube amps myself, but just for sentimental reasons. Hearing is believing.

  • With the new AxeFx II out a month now discussing about the old Standard model is also pointless. I reckon I'll post a couple of new vids and will delete this and the others I loaded up when I get my AxeFx II in a few weeks. Peace!

  • @raulin The thing with digital amps is no matter how good they are, they are always sterile and souless and have no heart. Just like the newest latest ferraris are technically amazing and of course faster than the early 1960s models. But the 1960's models and full of such heart and soul, they have a story and are like a living this, this is true for valve amps everyone has a slightly different sound. A AxeFX is just a computer.

  • @davek71 Agreed with 'An AxeFx is just a computer' - that is exactly what it is. I think my good old Commodore 64 has grown a soul in it since the 80s too. Peace!

  • @davek71 Tube snobbery. A real amp is still a pile of circuitry and wires. Most such depictions of sould come from either an unwillingness to move to something new/plain nostalgia/narrowminded "my way is better". Do what you prefer to get your tone from. If someone can get good tone from a digital unit, dont bash it just because its digital. You prefer the old fashioned way, you go ahead with it. Simple.

    Computer=/=bad. Poor settings=bad.

Its not that hard to make an SLO sound like a Spider IV.

  • @davek71 i'm pretty sure when you take a tube amp apart you'll find lots of circuits and wires, but no hearts or souls

  • @SevenStringShredHead Crank a real tube amp, then come back to his comment. I've owned loads of Line 6 modelling amps, you think they sound good ;til you get a real amp. Tube amps have a personality and this irreplacable feel that a computer just cant match.

  • @V100BB i do have a real tube amp, but i run an axe fx into two balanced speakers, sounds just as good, with 10,000x more flexibility

  • @SevenStringShredHead Mate if it sounds just as good you must have a pretty poor tube amp.

  • @V100BB triple rec

  • @V100BB

People yet have to manage to tell good modelling amps and tube amps apart in double blind studies.

  • how do i make the amp/effects page appear, i cant locate any of my amp and effects on axe edit screen

  • How did you connect the Axe-Fx to the computer [in order to use Axe Edit]?

  • @tweekin001 You need MIDI in/out (and possibly THRU?). Double check this elsewhere, though ;) I haven't used Axe Edit yet-- it's physical interface is cool with me :D It's amazing.

  • Is anyone finds that axe fx sounds dark?

  • @Sickindian5 turning up the treble/presence knob, or turning on the bright switch, or tuning up the highs at the global EQ - or placing an EQ block with highs set at taste -, or, or.... might solve this. The speakers you are listening to the clip with could also have something to do.

    Best,

  • @Sickindian5 WHat do you mean?

  • @thecookiedude

Its just easier for me to set up a real amp to sound more mid rangey than Axe Fx but it sitill may be my EQ'uing

  • i cant seem to get mine to work. im having trouble setting up the midi's. it keeps telling me "check midi settings..." any ideas? nice tones btw :O

  • great video, it would be great to have something like this for a tutorial on the ax edit!

  • Great, great tones!!! Cheers from Sweden - Jonas
